Im thinking of starting a multi-choice poll on what positions of government we should have. What suggestions?

May I first suggest that Domestic and Culture be rolled in together, And that trade and science be rolled in together. otherwise, keep all the same positions.

Any other suggestions? we must have a list, and have people elected into them by the 14th so we can start the game. For some reason I think our team will fall apart if we dont do this ASAP!

We should also elect ambassadors that we send in "contact" with the other teams. Those guys would NOT be doing any kind of spying. They would just be the contact between the teams.

Keep on pushing for ambassador's Fier. We shall not shut up about it before we become ambassadors.

I believe that due to the fewer number of players in this game, fewer positions should be needed. In the future, if we find it necessary, we could then increase the number of elected positions. Right now, we need to avoid too much red tape.

Yes, but we can decide beforehand on who is going to be assigned to what nation for when we do have contact. This way, we don't have to have a poll, while the other side is waiting for communication.

I would still adovcate keeping Fanatika's highly developed system of laws. I would combine Domestic/Culture (with the possibility of Science), FA/Trade, with a judiciary consisting of a single chief justice.

While the Fanatika's government system makes the game enjoyable, I think the time restrictions for turns require some simplified system. If you followed the UN thread, a full turn (from all 7 or 8 teams) should take around 30-48 hours. It will not be possible to have decisions polled between turns. Maybe some longer goals can be decided in a democratic way.
Elections are independent of the pace of the game, so it will not be a problem here.
I also think that Domestic and Culture should be combined. FA and Trade and maybe Science (it is something that can be traded with other civs).
We should also decide a name for our country.

I am proposing an intergration of all the branches into a single Cabinet. The Assembly will be formed of all governors and they will elect one of themselves to represent the Assembly in the cabinet twice every term.

Taking everyone into account, the cabinet would be:
Interior Department (Domestic, culture, science)
Foreign department (Trade + foreign advisor)
Defence department
the High Court
the ambassadors' representative (the ambassadors would elect one representative for the cabinet)
the Governors' representative (the Governors would elect one representative for the cabinet)

I will start a poll to see if this is approved now.

As much as I lack the experience of some of you, I didn't see anywhere else to post, so I nominate myself for Ambassador to the Grenouille team. I'm in third year french, and should be able to communicate decently (with the help of dictionaries) to the French.

I always wanted to fullfill a function as ambassador in a Multi site demo game. :)
I do agree though that we should be preparred by electing them before communication's are made.
In all case's we should try to prepare most decission's before the situation asks for it.
