This is the bundle that includes the original, shosun total war and the mongol invasion. It should cost £30 here in England but I can't find it in the shops yet it should have been out a month ago. I have looked at a few sites and have not find out anything yet so I am posting this topic for help. I really really WANT this game so if anyone could post a reason why its not in the shops at the moment it would be nice.

I am interested in Shogun's style of turn based strategy combined with RTS battlefields, but i have not played it, just kibbized.

Well, Shogun came out quite a while ago. Before 2000, I think. But that's not really a reason why you shouldn't be able to find it somewhere. Look online, you'll probably find what you're looking for. After all, it's a fine choice for a game!

Well, it's a lot like Medieval's (haven't played Rome, but I suspect it isn't far off). The turns in Shogun are seasons of the year, where you can build things in your provinces, train soldiers, send emissaries to the other shoguns, send an army to attack ronin or rivals, etc. It's essentially all the administrative duties.

When the turn is finished, you get the option to carry out the attack or to turn around and head back home, especially if the rival boosts their presence in the targeted province.

You can let it do the battle for you, in which case, you'll get the result immediately. Or you can fight it yourself. There, you'll get to set your formation pre-battle, then during the battle (which lasts until nightfall...if time runs out, the defender wins, the speed of the time is adjustable) and you can group your units or move them individually. Then you can attack, fire with your archers, move around and flank, have them retreat, etc. If a unit is too badly beaten, the remnants (if any) may turn around and flee the field.

After the battle, if there are no more battles to be fought, then you go to your next turn.

So, it's more like two different systems coming at various times. You can avoid the RTS altogether if you wish.

This has to be the biggest bump I've ever seen. Psycadelic_Magi = thread necromancer.

I wonder if Dell ever got a copy, it's about £5 nowadys :p

Edit: Although, to be fair, we have threads from 2002 on the first page still.

Excellent, a happy ending.

Though if you had waited until now, you could have gotten it for £5 :p

Then again if I had waited until now I probably wouldn't bother buying it. :p
