View Full Version : Resignation / Defection
Eklektikos Feb 11, 2003, 11:46 AM This is to let you all know that I will henceforth no longer be a member of the CivFanatics team, as I have decided to take part in this multi-site demogame as a member of the Gamecatcher team following that site's 11th hour decision to enter the competition. I'm sure that with the wealth of talent to be found here my presence will not be too sorely missed ;)

donsig Feb 11, 2003, 11:50 AM All I can say is:  :( :spank:
Eklektikos Feb 11, 2003, 12:21 PM I would also like to reassure the more spy obsessed citizens that I am imposing a self-ban on entry to the MSDG forum until it has been made secure. This thread I will only view or post in via the subscribed threads list on my control panel. :)
Zarn Feb 11, 2003, 02:17 PM Good luck, Eklekikos.
Sorry, you have to go.
I'm at other sites as well. GC and Poly are the two other ones that I am in. My loyalty goes with cfc, though. I will not be a citizen of the other ones.
Goonie Feb 11, 2003, 03:34 PM Ekl. WHY? What do they have we dont?

GC is small, so he decided to help them. Right, Eklekikos? I almost did it myself.

That's basically it. GC's a small site with a limited possible pool of participants, while CFC is huge with an extremely active Civ3 community. I post regularly at both sites and like them both, so decided to join the team with the greater need for players. That's really all there is to it. :)
CivGeneral Feb 11, 2003, 06:27 PM Hmm. Benidict Arnold and "Benidict" Eklektikos. Who knew :crayzyeye:
Grandmaster Feb 11, 2003, 06:50 PM Get the traitor! Seel the doors and windows! Ready the firing squad! Don't let him get away!
On a more serious note, sorry to see you leave the team Eklek. Your presence will be missed.... and if CG wins, we're all blaming you for our loss! :p
CivGeneral Mar 21, 2003, 05:57 AM Edit: Due to cercamstances of the game level, I Will Not be Unjoining CFC. After much thought (and a couple of tomatos ) I have decided to stay.
Goonie Mar 21, 2003, 06:49 AM I dont know if we can agree to this CG. I know we as a team have to capability to block you from doing this. The question is, do we want to?
Eklektikos Mar 21, 2003, 07:02 AM What I want to know is when I'll be seeing the royalties due to me for all the material stolen from my own posts in this thread. ;)
WildFire Mar 21, 2003, 09:58 AM Ok CG. First of all, joining another team this late AFTER you've seen our starting position is really really cheap. If you were to leave this team, I say that no other team should accept you since it would be an unfair advantage against our team. And dont forget to un mod yourself from a certain someplace.

While I do not think this is true, I do agree with Wildfire that switching sides after the game has started is pretty cheap...
Louis XXIV Mar 21, 2003, 11:28 AM As CDG Foreign advisor, and as someone who will be making contact with your fine Civilization some time down the road, I would like to say hi
 [snip]
Sincerely,
Louis XXIV of Elucidia
CDG Foreign Advisor
Goonie Mar 21, 2003, 03:29 PM Hi fellow Foreign Minister.
Eyrei, this has happened to another site, and was brought up a 1BC. We have the power to stop CG from joining another team if we want to.
CivGeneral Mar 21, 2003, 03:44 PM Dear friends, as im sure many of you know I had made the decision to leave this team to move to a smaller team in the game. I did this because CFC is a big team and I just wanted to move somewhere were I didnt know the players as well and it would just be new and fresh. Since then I have recieved a lot of insults and name-calling from people over my decision which has been deeply hurtful.
As such I am withdrawing my transfer, I have too many dear friends here to risk losing in this way over something that wasnt that important to me in the first place. Please dont think I have let you down guys (And gals), my heart is as always at CFC
Edit: Highlighted "withdrawing" to make the point clear.
Goonie Mar 21, 2003, 03:56 PM CivGeneral, if this is what you want to do, I will put it to vote. I still hold the same respect for you as I always have. If you really want to join another team, which os perfectly alright, just let us put it to a vote. Personally I have faith in you.
FortyJ Mar 21, 2003, 04:53 PM I've talked with CivGeneral about his decision, and I believe he wishes to stay here at CFC. He has also assured me that he has divulged nothing that might be considered sensitive information. I move that we accept CivGeneral back into our family immediately.
Furthermore, I believe that as punishment for his action, he should be forced to open a public thread in which we can all throw produce at him at our leisure. ;)
Octavian X Mar 21, 2003, 04:56 PM I was afraid there for a second. People to play games on backup are in short supply...

Ermm, I can take care of my own pushments. My face already hurts from doing the Grey Fox thing and punching myself.
