After solving the problem of file not found (ini files), now I'm getting a divide error when I try to load my scenario? Not sure how/where this is occurring, any help would be appreciated.

View Full Version : Divide Error Procifica Feb 12, 2003, 01:50 AM After solving the problem of file not found (ini files), now I'm getting a divide error when I try to load my scenario? Not sure how/where this is occurring, any help would be appreciated. bhiita Feb 12, 2003, 02:13 AM I've never seen or heard of this  Maybe there could be more help if you told us what the exact error message says. Procifica Feb 12, 2003, 02:35 AM CIVILIZATION3 caused a divide error in module CIVILIZATION3.EXE at 0167:004d011c. Then it goes into the usual spew of general protection fault and stuff when a program crashes. Procifica Feb 12, 2003, 03:18 AM Ok, seems that when I load an earlier version of the scenario (no units placed, buildings changed, or techs changed), and set the rules to default, it loads fine (though with egypt and rome as the civs)... Procifica Feb 12, 2003, 03:31 AM Alright I imported just the map and cities to a fresh .bic file, and it loads fine again (units caused it to crash). Procifica Feb 12, 2003, 04:44 AM Ok seems the problem is when I add even one unit to the map...scenario crashes. When there are no units, scenario loads fine. bhiita Feb 12, 2003, 05:05 AM Are you useing each games editor respectfully? i.e. original civIII+original civIIIedit PTW+new civIIIedit? and this thread probably needs to be moved to the technical help forum for better results. I'm just grasping at straws :) it sounds like a issue not directly related to the game. While your waiting for chieftess to move it, I suggest browsing the Civ3 - Technical Support (http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=60&forumid=48) and see if you find something that might help. *note* don't create a new thread, this thread will be moved soon enough. :D I hope you find a fix to this problem Procifica Feb 13, 2003, 02:59 AM Well, I thought it belonged here since it has to do with the civ3 editor and such. I'm about to do a test where I use the regular game units, instead of my custom units, to see if that works. I could have screwed up somehow in creating my units. Procifica Feb 13, 2003, 03:17 AM Alright, looks like I found the error, I apparently did the .INI file wrong, and now I think my units should work. For anyone curious, all this has to do with my Civil War Scenario which I'm working on, which has its own thread on this if interested in further reading. |
