is there any mod that would let me have marathon research times for normal speed or something like that?

1. Make the folder [...Beyond the Sword/Mods/ERT/Assets/XML/Gameinfo]

2. Copy the original file [...Beyond the Sword/Assets/XML/Gameinfo/CIV4GameSpeedInfo.xml] into the folder you made under point #1.

3. Use Notepad (or similar) to edit the CIV4GameSpeedInfo.xml in your ERT-mod. Just edit the <iResearchPercent> for GAMESPEED_NORMAL to be exactly like the <iResearchPercent> for GAMESPEED_MARATHON, and you're good to go.

4. Start your game, Advanced, Load a mod, and choose ERT.

Unless I have overlooked something, this should work, and when you play Normal Speed your research will take as long as it would've on Marathon...

gameinfo is empty:confused:

Oh, I know what you say, but that shouldn't be the case. The only "empty" Gameinfo-folder you should have is the newly created one...before you copy the CIV4GameSpeedInfo.xml file into it...

And...there are several Gameinfo-folders...in Vanilla, Warlords and BtS. Please look around until you find the file...

If the file was missing, you wouldn't be able to play the game...

OK I did everything you said but instead of copying I accidentally moved it. I copied it back to GameInfo and readjusted the speed, but now I get a bunch of error messages at startup, there isn't any game speed to be selected and the game crashes every time I start playing. I don't have any CD so please help?

EDIT: OK, I fixed it. Forgot to make it an xml file.

Sorry for my absence, but my internet-line was down for a week and a half due to a lightning strike some 12 days ago....

Did you actually manage to make it work?

Sorry to revive an old and buried thread, but how would I edit the date to match Marathon? I tried, but it seems more complicated than the research times.

Just copy the whole chunk of GameTurnInfos codes from Marathon to Normal?

I would, but I'm afraid of losing the original data... the "mod" version doesn't work, I have to edit the entire game every time I want to do this. Could you tell me how to make it work?

In Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Assets/Mods in your C drive or whatever drive you install in, make a new folder

There should be some mods there already by default.
Inside the new Mod folder you created, make Assets/XML/GameInfo then paste the CIV4GameSpeedInfo.XML file there and edit it without affecting the original game
