When you have Civ3 running, is it possible to minimize Civ3 so as to check E mail etc. then go back to the game? I'm getting tired of having to save and quit the game completely when I want to do something else like ask this question here. Civ3 fills the screen on my monitor so I can't see any minimize button.

Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure if you can minimize it (not at that computer at the moment) but you can alt-tab if you have other apps running. Or, you can use the windows key, and try minimizing it there (haven't tested that). If that doesn't work, you can always use the windows key, and then open up the other programs from there.

Nope, Civ3 doesn't "minimize", but you can use the "Alt-Tab" function to access other running programs, or "Ctrl-Esc" to bring up the Windows menu.

Hey, there is a way to minimize Civ3. however, it's a bit different from "normal" minimalization. You should change your desktop's res to eg. 1600x1200 while adding the following lines to civilization3.ini:
VideoMode=1280 (could also be 1152 or 1024)
KeepRes=1
Your desktop's res should always be higher than that se in "VideoMode".
But, as I said it a rather stupid way to minimize civ3, and the problem is you can't maximise it back while these parameters are set.
