<FONT face="tahoma"> Civ Evolution (http://c-evo.org/) , also known as cEvo (http://c-evo.org/) , is a different approach to the Civ genre.
It was started in September 1998 by Steffen Gerlach, and has been evolving slowly. The main draw to this 'Civ' over any other is the modular style AI (Artificial Intelligence). Modular meaning that each AI is a separate process and does not know what the other AIs know. Also, the AIs run under the same rules as the humans, since the humans take up a similar slot as the AI. The problem with this approach is that it is difficult to program an AI to effective in all situations.
Overall this is a great idea and deserves some attention. Check it out.
