Hey, am I the only one out there who thinks that the names of the factions are kind of... weird? I counter this by renaming them as follows:
Hive- Socialist Republic of Chiron
University- University of Chiron
Drones- Worker's Liberation Army
I've found that this helps the game go by so much better, and what self-respecting nation would call themselves "The Hive"?

Well the University is formally called the University of Planet.

The Hive isn't just communist, it is a collective.

Well I did try renamin the "Spartan Federation" to the "New Foreign Legion" with some french-sounding name for leader, and then tried to build up a massive and efficient army, only to act as a 100 % mercenary in any conflict. I allowed myself to be bribed into any conflict, and stuck with my "benefactor" until the two made peace, whereas I generelly dropped the war myself, as soon as I had consolidated my gains. It didn't really work out *that* well as I had to cancel all too many wars for my liking, but it was a fun experiment.
