Zavvi have put Gods and Kings up for pre-order today - ready for an alleged release date of 30th March. Not exactly late spring!

However, it also mentions that Gods and Kings "takes players through time as they engage in new quests and global competitions." Is this just a strange way of saying that it's Civ V with new stuff, or are there going to be quests within the game, I wonder? I'm banking on it just being a strange way of saying it's Civ V with new stuff.

I'd stick with the 25th of may release.

Quests isn't anything new, there's just more of them + plus citystates offer more than 1 quest at a time.

I refuse to believe this is true. Because if I did and it was wrong i would be really disappointed. HOWEVER, the 30 released achievements, coupled with a promised release date from a site, coupled with polished screenshots and a working QA patch update released a few weeks ago by accident...

Maybe it will be here sooner than we think.

Of course! I was forgetting about the city state requests. I was confusing those with events in Civ 4. Quite stupidly, really.

For the record, I don't expect it to be out until late May/early June. The May 25th date quoted elsewhere (and in this thread by anandus) seems to be the most realistic one for me...and as I've the last three weeks in June off, I'll have plenty of opportunity to play it!

That HOWEVER has made me want the game released even more now, thanks Seasnake.
