Just registered on Civ 3 fanatics site today. I'm kindof pissed because ever since I got civ 3 complete for my mac I wasn't able to play PTW. It always asks me to insert an original disc, now idk why it would be asking me that because I didn't pirate it and I bought it. Is there something I'm not correctly doing in the installation because I followed the readme, copying it to the main civ 3 complete folder. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but it doesn't help at all. Does anyone know what the problem could be or am I just being stupid?

Not a lot of Mac user here is all. You should be able to play all three versions. I do not have complete, but have all three versions. The C3C version can play conquest and ptw maps. The problem is that it cannot start a PTW map.

I had to install PTW in a seperate folder to start PTW maps. Anyway check on the MAC forum and see if someone has a better response.

Yeah, the Civ3 Mac forum (http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=59) is where you'll want to ask. As a Windows user, I can't say whether that's just the way it is, or not.

I, too, have C3Complete and WinXP. And I have to have Disc 1 in the cd tray to play the game. So, I don't think it is a Mac vs PC issue.

Now, just because there are three games (vanilla, PTW and Conquests) and three CDs, it doesn't mean that PTW is Disc 2 and that disc is the one required to play PTW. That is a logical deduction, but may not relate to reality. :D :dunno: :crazyeye:

Well they decided to make the Mac version on ONE CD but PTW is acting like it doesn't recognize the disc or I need some disc, Im not sure if I need to update something or what? I posted on the mac forums but no replies, such an odd problem I don't know if anyone else is having it, if there is any mac users happening to be browsing how did u install PTW, I'll ask there as well...

Cbob that problem you see is from the Safedisc 2. It came in one of the last patches iirc.
