This might seem like a silly question but I couldnt find an answer anywhere else. In this mod I've seen a few symbols and had no idea what they meant. Two that pop to mind are a small fire symbol on some builds with a plus or minus (some value) and another is .... im not even sure two grey spheres of some sort, also with a plus or minus (some value). An example of where I see it is the Mad Scientist's Castle, which has both symbols, or lethal injection which has only the weird grey one and lighthouse which has the fire one.

Any idea what these symbols mean?

And on a completely unrelated note I know wasted food is needed but my capital has 102 wasted food to only 25 used. Theres no way to reduced that is there?

Flammability and crime.

The grey circles are handcuffs. (the crime icons is clearer, in the city build screen.) Buildings will give or take away crime each turn. When you reach certain levels of crime, you will get free buildings, (Crime-***) for instance, Crime - foregry. (- happines - 5 gold per turn) as the crime rate goes higher you will be swamped with negatives and more crimes. Useng crime reduction buildings will help lower the rate and Remove those crimes and their negatives.

The fire symbol shows the + or - effect the building has to flamability. The higher your cities flamability, the more likely that a random fire event will be more severre and destroy buildings. You may or not noticed this much, as I think its not fully implemented. I don't think i've had one my entire game.

Also the hover text for these buldings lists these properties, and there is a properties tab in the area to the right of the city screen (tabs are resources, and properties) which allows you to see their aggreagte values and trends for that city.
