You knew it was coming, you just were going to wait till April 2nd to post this poll.

Where will you spend more time?

*Mods, if you'd prefer this to be serious, throw it in Civilium and put a Red Diamond on it so I can ignore it.*

Poll coming soon.

Since it doesn't seem to segregate religion and politics threads I won't have a subforum that I'll avoid most of the time.

Prolly be reading more in Civilium than posting, but I'll definitely be checking both out regularly.

Where threads that interest me go. This can apparently be in either forum.

I wish all files were accessible via one forum for us; we could create topics with tags "Civilium" and "Taberna" (mandatory tag) so that we could tell which is which, and the mods could organize and hack away at the respective threads.

Barring that, I'm either cycling through both, or none. At the very least, it's an inconvenience.

I think the better solution would have been the equivalent of a Red Diamond for a lower level of moderation than the baseline.

I'll hang out here more, and if there was pc, I'd sure as hell post here more, but since there isn't, I probably won't.

Depends if the serious discussions move beyond the same bland arguments between the same people that have been going on for years now or not. Also whether or not this subforum devolves into little more than actual (not CFC's excessively broad generalization) spam which I have no interest in.

I already recommended that. It could be a Blue (or green if you're that sorta person) Dolphin.

I'll post where the topics that interest me are. So, more likely Taberna, which is a stupid name.

I say just boycot the idea and everyone remain active in Taberna over civilium, that seems to be what many are doing for the most part anyways

Aside from being more visible to those who aren't well acquainted with the rules, I'm not cetain how it's any different from the use of the red diamond in the old off topic. There'll be more activity in Civilium than there were old red diamond threads and posts, but an insistance on serious posting in Civilium will lead to threads that have the potential to generate interesting debate being posted in Taberna where interesting debate is more likely to get lost amongst the increased spam.

I get that a lot of people took issue with the moderating in the old off topic, but that moderating was consistently far superior than any othe similarly active discussion forums I've been to. People looking for perfection - the concept, not the poster - are asking too much of the internet.

This. But I'm still waiting till April the 8th to see if this isn't some unfunny prolonged joke. I mean, they got so many things wrong with this transition that it seems like joke.

At first I thought I would post more in Taberna, but after considering the type of people likely to infest Taberna I'll probably spend more time in Civilium, that is if I would ever seriously come back to being an OT regular at all.

Since I'm apparently not allowed to openly insult other forumgoers here, much less employ the language that is a staple of my daily discourse with real human beings, I can't imagine posting here consistently.

And since the stuff in the other place is chiefly comprised of boring [defecation], I can't imagine posting there consistently either.

So if this were legit, it'd have killed OT for me. Which, I suppose, could have been the point.

The Debating Chamber seems to be nothing but politics threads. The hell with them.

I will be in the tavern much much more but may occasionally check out the other one. I doubt I'll ever post in it though.
