Live feed just started. Their dealing with Borderlands 2 right now. Not much about Gods and Kings. It seems to be taking a huge back seat to other games.

The_J

Yes, today Civilization V Producer Tiffany Nagano should be there, and, since Civ5 Associate Producer Lena Brenk was skipped yesterday, she should appear there today.

How much info we'll get out of that is another question, and we also don't know when they'll be there in the 2.5 hours of the stream.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before (since I've been busy at PAX East), but I talked with one of the producers who was running the Civ 5 G&K demo. The female producer who was presenting didn't really have any clue to the answer to my questions.

He told me that cities with religion influence other cities within a 10 hex radius. This influence is the same through the 10 hexes (thus being directly next to them is the same as 9 hexes away). However, multiple cities can have their influence stack on top of each other to influence it more so.

The extra Spy from one civilization was removed.

The Ethopian special ability is that they get a 20% defensive bonus against "larger civs," defined as "civilization with more cities than you." Their special unit also gets a bonus when near your capital (or city or something, I forget).

The Huns are similar to other civilizations in the sense that they have a unique ability and 2 special units. However, their cities (besides their capital) get the names of other civilization cities. That's classified as one of their unique abilities. They also raise cities twice as fast or something.

Carthage elephants (their UU) can walk on mountains... it looks pretty funny with a giant elephant on top of the giant mountain.

There were a few other minor things that he mentioned; including "that's coming in the DLC" to one of my questions. Had a long night and was bar hopping with the guys from Riot Games, so I'm a little out of it. Maybe it will come back to me tomorrow.

Note: If I posted this in the wrong section, you can feel free to move it and/or post it elsewhere.

Great, bet the Zulu come with it. I will be the first to take the plunge and say it. Unless they bring them out with the third expansion. Getting ahead of myself a bit.

Made a new thread for today's PAX talk: Sunday's PAX talk (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=458597) :)

Cool I am ready to see this demo today. I hope they tell us the last civ. We should come up with some questions to ask.

Answers to these would be nice...

1. Are jewelry and porecelain the only two special resources available to mercantile city states?

2. What is the Carthage ship UU?

3. Is there another era in the techtree? We know now that the Great War is not an era, but people have said that there is another.

4. Could you tell us about a new resource or two? PLEASE!!! We all saw the screenshot of mystery sea resource, which looked like anything from turtles, to clams, to god knows what. I thought it was turtles myself.

5. What is the remaining civ? Is it the dreaded Zulu? Is it Sumer? I have even speculated poor Australia. That did not go over too well. I mean we already know the other 8 civs, and that Spain is free, who I already have, but tell us the last one.

6. Can triplanes and the WWI bomber go onto aircraft carriers? The reason I ask this is simple. For one of my games I plan on reworking my tech tree a bit to stop at the end of WWI. Aircraft carriers will be like one of the last things that can be built, I, may move them up a tech or two to fit them someplace close to the other WWI units. Then I will end at the industrial era and points will decide things. I will try to have all WWI civs in the game, or civs that could possibly pertain to WWI, and it will be a team setup beginning in the Industrial Era, or one Era before. Anyway, I would imagine triplanes should be able to go on carriers, probably not WWI bombers though.

7. ? I have to think does anyone else have any ideas?

Do you remember what the question was?

Not offhand. I just remember his comment to it. I was mainly asking questions about stuff that was featured in Civ 4 but not in Civ 5. I'll try to think of it, but I'm dead tired from traveling back home.

Also, we know that the upcoming actions of enemy Civs can't be seen through Spies in multiplayer (since they can't read a player's mind). However, he did mention that there is always an underlying AI that considers actions it would do if a player would leave -- and could possibly give that information (and thus a general idea of the direction on what the player was doing), but it was deemed weird and removed.
