I believe in order to achieve our highest creative potential in Caveman2Cosmos we must have a place to just talk about the future eras in a casual manner.

Not to present ideas for the game but to interact with each other and share our visions of what we believe the future is going to be like. A place to share material we find about the future in order to expand our creativity. This ideas can spark something that can be used in C2C in the future eras.

The problem with Caveman2Cosmos is that real history has guided us on how to craft the first part of the C2C. When it comes to the future, anything is really possible.

Guidelines
1. A.D (Anno Domini) and C.E (Common Era) are equivalent to each other.
Either Calendar classification can be used but A.D is recommended.

"2012 CE" = "AD 2012" and "399 BCE" = "399 BC".


2. Please keep ideas based 2000 AD/C.E and Beyond.



3.Please state a general year, decade, or decades of when the technology/discovery/invention may arrive in your post so we get an idea on where in the timeline it might go.


4. If you have any material about future technology, society, or military please share it. Videos are highly recommenced.



5. Please be aware of the Kardashev scale, it measures the category of a futuristic civilization. May it plan your vision.

The scale has three designated categories called Type I, II, and III. These are based on the amount of usable energy a civilization has at its disposal, and the degree of space colonization. In general terms, a Type I civilization has achieved mastery of the resources of its home planet, Type II of its solar system, and Type III of its galaxy.

I wonder if when designer babies (~ A.D 2030-2040) become a reality, will their be genetic piracy. Instead of stealing .mp3s like in our era, genomes of successful people will be pirated in the black market like bootleg DVDs. Instead of pirating Microsoft Office, a genetic sequence for High IQ to give your designer baby an advantage will be pirated instead of buying a license to use it.

A "licence key made of DNA nuclotides A,T,C,G" encoded in the genome and some sort of DNA test can be used to proove a designer baby's genome was pirated. Enforcement will occur because the rich who can afford designer babies will not want extra competition for their children in the workplace from the unmodified poor who cheated. Their could be a Genome Enforcement Commission that prevents this.

Edit : I also think all eras should be organized in a new 'stickied' sub-forum, so that people can easily access/get to era discussion = no more era bumping. Especially for the alternate era threads.
New people, coming to the forum, could see all the eras being worked on:)
