hey guys, i was hoping to get some diversity regarding the ship designs, but i have absolutely no clue on how to do it. so i was hoping that someone had a similar idea but more skills than me and had therefor already created a little mod-mod-mod^^

does anyone know about such a minimod and could be so kind to point me in the right direction?

Both the Babylon 5 Mod and the Star Trek Mod are variations on FFP and use their own custom ship models. I think this is what you are asking for isn't it?
