I was heading for any peaceful VC when Monti Dowed out of blue just because I refused earlier to stop trading with his enemies and also refused to a demand he made when he had a 10-15 unit stack next to my axe protected former zulu city.

So I tried to get my buddy Alex to Dow him but he would not, then I just emptied the city and made it easier for Monti to capture the city. One he DoWed me alex was happy to go to war against Monti for an Arm and a leg. I did give him the arm and the leg he wanted.
