View Full Version : Colonization Resources and Finished Goods

I totally dig the whole process of gathering resources and producing goods for trade and sale that Colonization offers. But I'm looking for a way to keep going with that system without a turn limit or the end of the game's timeline getting in the way. I want to be able to drill for oil, build refineries assign colonists to work those refineries and sell gas; or mine ore, produce steel and build and sell cars the same way I currently farm tobacco and make cigars and such.
Anyone know of anything like this available in the Sid Meier mod repertoire that will run on Civ 4 or 5?

Thanx

This belongs in the 'Creation and Customization' subforum. Alterations to the game are called Mods, and the people who do the altering, modders. There are plenty of modders for the Civilization games. And the idea that you have of expanding the resources has already been done. In fact the Religion and Revolution mod which is soon to be released, has tons of resources, like hemp, to build ropes, and sail cloth to build ships. There is also a mod that takes you into the distant future, which has completely different resources all together.

Thanks Sanotra. Sounds like R&R may be what I'm looking for. I'll see if I can find the proper sub-forum for the release date.
In the meantime, what's the name of the second mod you mentioned that goes into the distant future?

Thanx

Yes, we have massive amounts of new features and improvements and a much larger economy in Religion and Revolution (http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=455). :)
(Also, we are based on TAC and include all the cool stuff TAC has done.)

There is no fixed release date. ;)
We simply have a todo-list for Release 1 and will release when we are ready.
Fun and quality are more important to us than time pressure.

It is Colonization 2071 (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=349050).

Very cool Ray. Just played a few turns of TAC's 2.02 and shut down just long enough to say thanx. Love the additional resources and the new Europe screen, the same one BTW that doesn't work properly for me in the AoD II Mod. I'm off to hopefully find more surprises. Thanx again!
