View Full Version : I'm sorry if I'm stupid.
gozpel Jun 06, 2012, 04:01 AM I always checked into HOF, just to read about the amazing wins and their way to victory. Way over my head, but I like how players use diff tactics to achieve a goal.
I understand gauntlets are preset goals and you have to win this way. And you can't change the settings as made by the mod, right?
But a game without gaunlets or anything can I play any map with any Civ, and with as many/few civs as I like?
Can I try to do whatever I want, just to get a score? Except cheating of course.
I neglected this forum too long, as I never could wrap my head around the rules. I'm not challenging anyone in Gauntlets, but maybe doing a settler win for time-victory.
Sometimes I just want to be in peace with myself and in my game.
I've done some nice games on 2-player continents on Settler, perhaps my next game will fill a spot?
Tabarnak Jun 06, 2012, 11:16 AM Gauntlets aren't the only way to play HoF games. You can try to beat any difficulties on any map with any leader against different leaders all the time and try all different ways to finish a game :)
I don't know how much combinations you can play but it's pretty huge(i'm sure that i've seen this number somewhere...)

Please read the HOF Rules (http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ5/rules.php)before you play. There are requirements for number of Civs and City States among other things.

I just did a quick calculation and the result is staggering, if you include the time and date victories, I make it over 350,000 combinations!

175,104 date possibilities and 218,880 score possibilities.
So in total : 393,984 possibilities.
With the new expansion this will even grow to around 600,000.

Just re-inforcing that you can't change the default number of civs and city states.
Good luck with your games and I hope you noticed our spelling has improved :mischief:

That's what i call replayability! :D
Funniest thing is that some players like to play same setting again and again.

At this moment we have only played around 723 different settings.
That is 0,18%.

That is 0,18%.Not really expect to see a lot of Large and Huge submissions. Marathon isn't really popular either. That knocks out a bunch.
Not really expecting the HOF to ever be filled. Set it up to display what is most popular. So go ahead a play the same settings over and over, if that is your thing. :mischief:

I think 723 is really a lot of choices already.
When I want to pick out a game it takes me a long time to choice which score/date I want to beat.
I just love numbers and want to share them :D
