Just thought I'd post what i changed in Moo3 to make it the way I like it.
[Graphics]
I use the Red & steel interface by Myros.
I also use the moo2 stars mod.
I use all the Flag add on packs.
I use all the encyclopedia mods.
I use my own combat screen background.
[Gameplay] (note make a backup for multiplayer!)
I remove HFOG.
I Increase the AI.
I change a variable in the AI to build less troopships.
I shorten starlanes.
I make it a shorter amount of time to travel between stars without starlanes.
I change missle firing rates.
I remove pirates.
I use 255 stars max.
I speed up warp engines (slightly).
I make more autosaves.

(I like the micromanage mod but I dont use it.)

You should package together all your changes. I would find it interesting to try. I use most of them, including Myros' red but am going to change back to default blue. I also might make my own

Edit: I use some is more correct:
I use all the Flag add on packs.
I use all the encyclopedia mods.
Myros' red.

they're remaking the entire game now take a look at this....
or making a new version not quite sure but this is new.

Master of Orion III revised
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Infogrames' upcoming turn-based strategy sequel gets a new release date and a new game plan.

Last week Infogrames announced that its upcoming turn-based strategy game Master of Orion III would be released in the third quarter of 2002 rather than the previously scheduled second quarter. According to a company representative, the game is undergoing some significant changes that require additional development time to implement.

A number of posts on the official Master of Orion III message boards by designer Alan Emrich and executive producer Bill Fisher indicate that the game's previous design was overwhelming and it is now undergoing a process of streamlining and simplification. Two major changes made to the game include streamlining the user interface and reducing the amount of automated management in the game, since the designers found that the game was doing "too much for the players."

Master of Orion III is the latest game in the popular Master of Orion sci-fi turn-based strategy series. It will include a variety of improvements on the previous games, including better graphics and a number of new gameplay options and features.

I have already returned my game and got store credit for it. I'll never buy anything again with Infogreeds emblem on it.

Hey S1 I have read this article, as well, but it's about a year old. As it says this is talking about the original planned release in 2002. Unfortunately the game they released is the game we will have to live with, and hope for some official patches from QS, unless of course we use the mods that others like yourself have created for the game.
