Hallo, citizens of Fanatika.

Most of you are aware of the project of building a Great Tower in Karachi. Most of the discussion can be found in the
Acroama Homes (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41940&perpage=20&display=&pagenumber=4 .
) thread.

The tower design is attached below.

Padma of the Acroama Homes has stipulated a cost that ranges from 12,000 to 15,000 for the whole project. I have donated 1,500g, and am accepting donations from all.

If you wish to donate, please transfer the money to the 'Monumental Projects Fund' account.

Construction will start as soon as the crews are settled in Karachi and all material bought. We have reached 10,000g! Thank you all.
Those who have donated _will_ have portraits of them hung in the great hall :)

The whole project should be completed by mid-term 8.

This post is just to reaffirm that the Lancre Fund has donated 3000g to this project.

In addition, I will donate 1000g. from my own pocket.

Edit: I logged both of these in the FRA thread here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=835625#post835625).

if i get some kind of golden sponsor plate at the tower to be seen by many people, i would like to donate 2000 gold out of my personal pocket (please post the transaction at the FRA if possible)

btw:
was the acroma price given with a discount? if no i offer to order the tower as we can then get the acroma shareholder discount...

@disorganizer: The price given was a non-discounted price. A partner-discount will save up to 1500g on the total cost.

@ikey: so far in this thread I count 8000g contributed. You're well on the way!

I would like to make a contribution but must wait until the (longtime) pending land sale is completed.

@ikey - Note that Cyc, gunning1, jdd2007, Donovan Zoi and Octavian X just received huge windfalls from donsig's will. I'd hit them up if I were you. ;)

@disorganizer - even better. Donators will have portraits & / or sculptures of them made and these will be in the great hall of the tower.

^.^

Mr. President King: it's fun when you think of a huge 'homer simpson in a black tie' statue in a renaissance-style great hall :D all statues should be the same size and all. :)
[i'd have to know how you want to be pictured - like your avatars?]

Plexus: the people of Fanatika thank you! :) I'll post it in the FRA asap.

Cupertania will not only donate the land to Ikey for his work in the whatever-it-is-now-dom, but will donate 1000g to this fine tower.
And as for my statue: Think younger Gates in a tux, with a Penguin next to him
Gates..Penguin...heh.. like that will ever happen..

As for me, a distinguished looking young man, long-ish blonde hair, 6'5", in iron armor (minus helmet), a hawk is on his shoulder.

ookay!

thank you SaaM and Strider, your donations come in perfect time :)

Construction of the tower is starting soon, as building crews are inspecting the building site and settling in Karachi.

I intend to spend 12-13k gold in the construction itself; plus a 2,000g for decoration and the furniture; another 1,000g will be spent on plants and other external decoration :) of the +/- 15,000g, we have already 9,500 :)

As for me, just a a statue of a rather rotund man, crown atop his head, slumped over, asleep on the throne, box of doughnuts near at hand (a royal Homer Simpson). :D

Hullo fellows!

In my last visit to Karachi, i was able to check on the construction. here is my report :

Workers, architects, engineers are all settled in town. The city is crowded with them coming from all over Fanatika to help, making it a very unusual time for the people of Karachi.

The construction site has already been cleared and made ready for the foundations. Steel and concrete are being brought to town via rail, and holes are already being drilled, crafted right into the stone. Meanwhile, other workers are working in the shaping of the giant rock, so as to form the huge ramp which will be the main entrance to town once the tower is ready.

Of course, i was not there only visiting: i had a meeting with the architects, discussed with the engineers and, most important of all, paid the first 3,000g. ^.^

Next week I'll be there again.
