Is it possible to write names over maps? Like naming a mountain or a lake or an area or a sea or ocean?
That would be cool.
Greetings

Greetings Yoda Power Mar 11, 2003, 11:48 AM only one way to do that. make a resorce that have the name then place it. bhiita Mar 11, 2003, 12:03 PM  Wow! This is neat idea :) I thought about making units as 'road signs' or markers. But the resource idea is much better :) What I was thinking about doing is creating something to mark a patch of territory or name a desert or something. The best way I think to do this is make a sign post unit/resource and put all the imformation about what your marking in the civilopedia so you can right click on it and have the information/history behind what your marking or naming bhiita Mar 11, 2003, 12:22 PM :) I just had an Idea, I can't find an atlas to look at, but there should be actual symbols you could use. Just like an atlas or other map. Points of interest, springs or other natural geological features that would make the game more real. It would be really neat if we could add a defencive bonus to resources, like caves. :( That would be really cool. :( :edit: If there's any relistic thing to ask for in another patch I think this would be it :( Just think of preplaceing a trench 'resource' for WWI scenarios. That would make the game really neat. :( pdescobar Mar 11, 2003, 01:44 PM Keep in mind that if you use a resource, then any "marked" tile will not be able to have an actual resource. Named landmarks on maps was implemented in Alpha Centauri and is yet another thing from SMAC that I'd like to have seen make it to civ3 -- just a simple little addition which could make maps and scenarios more interesting. Ah well :) zulu9812 Mar 11, 2003, 04:41 PM God only knows why the Civ3 developers took such a huge step backwards after SMAC :( |
