I just started playing Civ 3, and am loving the advanced AI and graphics, anybody got any pics or cool stories of all out global war between you and other civ's?

Only once -- I had already won the game (Spaceship Victory) and was goofing around with the post-game when the Eqyptians (foolishly) lobbed a couple nukes at another nuclear power, Greece.

The Greeks retaliated. In fact they were able to get the other nuclear powers (other than me) to launch against Eqypt as well -- Rome and Carthage. Egypt was hurting, but I could only see bits and pieces of the devastation. I was curious about it, but before I could take a look the game crashed, and after that I couldn't play it for more than a turn or two before it crashed again. I tried two or three times to get it to work -- nothing.

It was all-out nuclear war though -- not just one or two -- during the AIs turn I heard way more than a dozen rumbles, indicating many, many attacks. And more occured in the following turns. But sorry, no screenshots.

lol sweet, wonder if there is a global warming effects in the game?

Oh yes there would have been -- nukes leave behind lots of pollution... With as many as were launched in that game we couldn't have cleaned it up in time... And in times of war we'd be less likely to dispatch Workers to take care of it anyway...

When I get bored, I send nukes out to blow up whales at sea. I like to hear and see the rumble as atoms fuse to scorch th'universe.

I'm really insane. Sometimes ill let Barbarian villages live just to blast them in the Modern Age :D.

i may try a nuclear war someday. But I am more of a Pacifist. anyways Global Warmings can occur without the existence of any nuclear weapons.

thats what happened to my civ 2 game, I had expanded so fast and so quick i was getting mad pollution quicker then i could remove it with engineers, (about 50 cities, 40 13+) I got global warning and it laid straight strips of drought all across my continent, sucked. I'm still in industrial age with current civ 3 game

launched my first Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) today. and got a question does pollution around a city affect it in anyways besides decreasing pop.

O and about the pic whats the chances of SDI missile defense system to intercept a enemy warhead

There's a 75% chance of the SDI stopping a nuke

yes, it horrible when I use 50+ nukes and not one goes through!

The food (and maybe production) gathered from the tile decrease.

I was witness to probably the most brutal Nuclear war the WORLD HAS EVER SEEN (ok maybe exagurating) but both nations were morons and didnt invest in an SDI system sooooo when they went to war they emptied there arsenals of about 50 or so ICBMS each....It was the longest turn omg it took around 10 minutes of whissing explosions and ground shaking and the whole time I was thinking my cereals getting soggie. I might have some screens after I occupied the area when it was practicly a waste land brb.

The Aftermath of the 6th Franco-Iroquien war....

On Civ2TOT, I downloaded that "somewhere in time" scenario. I was the russians, having a lot of fun, but the islamic league and the southeast asians hated each other. No turn was complete without 3 or 4 nuclear explosions. I'd cheat peace between them, but it wouldn't last the turn. I eventually cheated a ring of units between them, but they'd send helicopters around the other way, along with subs and nukes. WHY?!!! Why!... ...sob...

Did anyone else see "Baghdad" in one of those last two screenshots? Anyone else notice the player is playing the Americans? Anyone else get the shivers?

What's all that rubble next to the city? I've seen polution before, but never that. Was that a result of the nuke? Or is it a graphics mod?

Ive never had a game become a nuclear war, never, I usually wage defensive wars, rarely offensive unless I far better the AI.

I nuked the Aztecs once beacause i thought if i hit their capitol it would destroy their spaceship it didn't and everyone except the Pearsians nuked meThey hit all of my cities that where over size 10

I just had a nuclear war with the iroqies, the might have slaughtered the french but I gave them a quick whoopin...it took a half hour to exhange our nukes I lost around 100 MA he lost around 500...fair trade to me :D

I had my first nuclear exchange yesterday and it was quite scary. Thge game was set to regicide which i had forgotten so by the time i had destroyed the French (he he he), the Germans and the Greek i realised that it was my turn to take a hammering and that President Lincoln could be destroyed.....

China then chucked about 20 ICBMs at me but my "superior" SDI defence took care of most of them. Unfortunately Washington took a hit and i feared for the president and my civ's life

Luckily he survived the nuclear onslaught i received and i went on to flatten the world but it was close.
