Sultan Bhargash Apr 07, 2003, 11:05 PM GOT IT (I'm next, right?) will report tonight... Datsekkar Apr 08, 2003, 01:52 AM Any pictures for the lurkers? Sultan Bhargash Apr 08, 2003, 02:15 AM I wish I knew how, but I still don't know how to put in pictures. I would love to show you the fantastic engineering marvel I acheived, the Great Canal of Russia, bisecting that peninsula. It was an eventful turn for me when I went back in and destroyed "The Southern Russians" wholesale... This was my biggest turn and I really enjoyed it, particularly the all berserker, no coalition casualty taking of Minsk by sea and the construction of the canal cities that led to our ability to assault it with the tides from the north. I took two extra turns to finish my Russian hunt and because I won't get a chance to play again for a week... The Return of the Founder, Part IV: The Blockensaga Preturn 1275 AD- Cathy gives us Chivalry Theology and gold for peace. Since our forces are far from the last bases we need to crush, I give her the benefit of the doubt and make peace. London Berserk>Berserk. 1. 1280 AD- hurry temples on Tblisi island, moving forces to hill over Lugdunum. Off turn: Tblisi temple>barracks, Aarhus temple>worker. 2. 1285 AD- Vladivostok build turned to settler and hurried to occupy salt pan on other side of hill from Russian town. Offturn: Trogdor berserk>knight Vladivostok settler>temple 3. 1290 AD- Hurry Moscow settler in a ploy to create a dual canal so that my fleet can cut through the continent and set up a naval assault on Russia on two fronts. Offturn: Russians found Malkop on ground I wanted. Moscow settler>temple, Reykjavik berserk>knight 4. 1295 AD- It was in that year that we founded Bodo, on the lake and east coast of the land mass that Moscow is on. Offturn: Bergen medieval infantry>berserk, Copenhagen berserk>musketman, Yakustsk temple for scout (cheapest build, under the logic of filling the island so we’re safe unless they get marines. 5. 1300 AD- Celebrate the turn of the century by building Karasiok on the other side of the Moscow lake, west coast connecting a canal system through the peninsula. Now our galleys can move through to surprise Minsk… Units on our mainland are moving south to board ships to take them for another assault on Smerlenga or whatever the south island Russian city is called. 6. 1305 AD- Heaven help me, I can’t help myself. The east army pushes to the outer wall of Lugdunum, blowing the horns to let them know its Viking season again. The Bodo staff moves on Malkop. The Southern Mariners move on Sverdlosk. It’s Ragnarok! Offturn: London berserk>berserk Trogdor Knight>galley. 7. 1310 AD- Our raiders capture Sverdlosk, a lone berserker gets drunk and destroys Maikop, our berserks capture Lugdunum. Offturn: Nottingham Knight>aquaduct, Birka barracsks>musketman. 8. 1315 AD- Notta Offturn: Trogdor galley>knight. Tblisi barracks>medieval infantry. Aarhus worker>barracks. 9. 1320 AD- Operation Zeewulf: 6 Berserkers sail into Minsk from the (unexpected) north and take the veteran and regular musketman there by surprise, capturing the capital and one of its catapults. After some mishaps with boats, the new knight army begins crossing the sea eastward. Offturn: Celts and Russia sign a peace treaty. Yakutsk scout>warrior. 10. 1325 AD- Forces just outside of last Russian city below the Celt capital. Offturn: Oslo berserk>musketman 11. 1330 AD- Our forces take Kiev, and we are now in striking distance of Entremont with a fresh batch of troops on the way. Offturn: Reykvakik knight>galley, Stockholm berserk>musketman. 12. 1335 AD- Russia takes peace treaty, gives us Chemistry, 24 gold, world map. Forces moved into place for “Operation Celtic Crossfire.” Read the fine print that started this SG: if we are to have a victory by conquest it must occur before 1500 AD. Our Viking days grow short. I have moved massive armed forces into a position where they can conquer the whole of the landmass that Moscow and Entremont were born on. Then a Viking fleet or two to finish off the numerous island nests will be a must- my great fear is those unclaimed spaces still being the last refuges of the godforsaken Russians. After 1500 we must win in some other Scandinavianly appropriate manner. Don’t give up the fight! I will not get another chance to play this game until Monday- you can either skip my turns, wait for me, or let CivGeneral claim my spot at last… http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads4/ameritrogdor1335_AD.SAV Sultan Bhargash Apr 08, 2003, 02:45 AM Because I was so proud of it, I took a photo of my Great Russian canal and am attaching that: Sultan Bhargash Apr 08, 2003, 02:46 AM And I went back and loaded an autosave to reconstruct the raid on Minsk, which is very blurry in this photo: Sultan Bhargash Apr 08, 2003, 05:40 AM I just want to emphasize that with the forces mobilized and the back up production schedule, taking the Celts off their mainland should be relatively simple. The big issue is moving now towards the farthest Russian holdings- they will be the ones most difficult to fit in under the time deadline. Of course, if you guys are close to scheduel and decide to ditch the 1500 rule, I won't hold it against you. This berserker flood is so much fun to play that I have to admit I'm shadowing future turns for my fun... Datsekkar Apr 08, 2003, 05:43 AM @Antonius: Did you use a digi-cam :) They sure are blurry :crazyeye: I take pictures by hitting the “Print Scrn” button and the open MS Paint and choose “paste”. Then I edit the picture as wanted and save it as jpeg. I know there are tools that help you to take a snapshot of just the part of the screen that you want, but I find the editing in MS Paint to be just as easy. meldor Apr 08, 2003, 10:43 PM Where is the save game for hotrod? hotrod0823 Apr 08, 2003, 10:48 PM meldor the save is there but I am not sure I am up is LordMongoose still around?? Edit: His last post was March 29 th  Edit 2: Consider this my got it. Will try and play now. NOT too concerned with holding to the peace deals we are playing in the mud after all ;). CivGeneral Apr 09, 2003, 12:14 AM Hmm, I wonder when I fall in to get the save? hotrod0823 Apr 09, 2003, 12:46 AM BBBB 1335 AD (0): Change a couple West coast cities to galley to get units up to the far away russian cities quicker I suspect a couple zerks with a few knights and the last 2 cities in the North will be no more. 1340 AD (1): London builds zerk starts another. Trogdor knight starts knight. Bergen Zerk-zerk. Moving some units around. 1345 AD (2): Declare on Celts and move a miniSoD toward the capital. 1350 AD (3): Will attack the Celt capital next turna and take Camulodunum and move on Richbourogh. 1355 AD (4): Cats go 1/8 attack and kill 2 muskets and 4 spears but fail to take Entremont. Capture Alesia and get a leader. Capture Camulodunum. 1360 AD (5): Capture Leipzig. Begin moving on the final island. 1365 AD (6): Hurry Sistene Chapel because I can. 1370 AD (7): Capture Frankfurt. Capture Konigsberg. 1375 AD (8): Moving on Gergovia and Vermulamium. 1380 aD (9): Capture Gergovia. Only Verm remains. Education is due in 7 turns. We need astronomy to make it safely to the last of the Russians cities to the north but we could just load up and suicide. chances are we only need 2 or 3 to make it. 1385 AD (10): Capture the final Celt city and they are no more. 1390 AD (11): Being that we have been to the dark side I lay down the law with Russia and declare war killing an invading spear and settler. WE are at war with Russia. 1395 AD (12): Massive uprising hire a bunch of entertainers need to continue research to get astronomy ASAP. Moving 3 loads of zerks to Russian territory. 1400 AD (13): Capture Dnepropetrovsk and Astrakhan. There are only 5 Russian Cities left. I took the 2 on the island with 3 zerks. There are a couple knights and a few more zerks enroute. The North Island shouldn't be hard to take provide you can get there. Astronomy can't be too far off. Or suicide enough ships to take the last 2 cities. Tried to better defend the russian cities sent a couple loads of defenders 2 muskets just arrived some more will be needed but I don't think cathy has much in terms of offense. Good luck: http://civfanatics.net/uploads4/ameritrogdor1400AD.zip http://civfanatics.net/uploads4/bbbb1400.JPG Sultan Bhargash Apr 09, 2003, 03:26 AM Meldor would be next, then Civgeneral could sub for me, if it were still going... though you should consider finishing it if you can get us to the win. I'm very impressed with the speed of the conquest Hotrod, I will admit I played the game out all the way last night and it took me till 1625 to finish the far Russian cities. Great game, guys. Padma Apr 09, 2003, 10:04 PM Looking good! I expect to see a pre-1500 'Zerker win! :D WildFire Apr 10, 2003, 08:15 AM Looks fun....I should join one.. meldor Apr 10, 2003, 09:42 AM I see it but can't get it today meldor Apr 11, 2003, 11:38 PM Well it didn't take much. It ended in 1480 with a conquest win. I had to take 6 cities but that was it. Saved game (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads4/ameritrogdor1480AD.zip) Open the save game, attack with the knights and hit return till the end. hotrod0823 Apr 12, 2003, 12:35 AM Didn't think you would have any trouble at all  meldor Apr 12, 2003, 05:37 PM Yes, the biggest fun was playing the science slider to get astronomy in 6 turns instead of 9. jack merchant Apr 12, 2003, 05:49 PM Ah, the US team has finished at last :) Congrats ! meldor Apr 12, 2003, 08:12 PM Originally posted by jack merchant Ah, the US team has finished at last :) Congrats !
