I'm trying to create my own govenments and I have no idea where to begin or even the know how to start.

I read over several other messages that had Government MODs, and they all sound sweet, but everytime I download them, I keep messing other things up and the game never plays the same.

I have a lot of ideas so if anyone can help me, please let me know. I am getting sick of the same old governments and looking for change!!!

Also, can the AI change into these newly created governments, or are they player friendly only? The reason I ask is because the last set of governments I loaded, they all changed from Despotism, to Republic and then to Democracy. (The download was not from this site, in fact, I do not remember where it came from).

AI can use whatever government they have tech for. The key though to the AI using a government is it must have some type of advantage over other governments that would make them want to use it.

You may wish to check the tutorial forum for an adding governments topic.

klink5,

There are seven added governments in DyP and I am contemplating adding an eighth. It has taken a long time balancing them, but I think we have done a pretty good job. There are quite a few aspects that can be edited to tweak a government and make it different from another.

As Procifica said the key is giving each new government an advantage over the others that came before it. Two key factors the AI considers are Corruption and how large an army it can field. These two things more than anything else are what the AI looks for in a Government.
