[Edit: Problem has been fixed. On AOL I am now allowed to view my inbox...*sighs* What happened before?]

Maybe someone sent you some porn?

Maybe.

I logged off of that Yahoo account and logged on to an alias one, and YET AGAIN I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO VIEW IT.

This gets me really pissed because AOL is way too damn restrictive. I remember being blocked from Google when I first got onto my own computer and installed 8.0.

Just use a friend's computer to look at porn.

Are you going through AOL or minimizing AOL and using an alternate browser? I've never tried to get around parental controls, (I should, to keep track of what tricks my kids might pull) so I don't know if this will work. I don't use AOL to browse, tho.

Sounds to me like it might be some AOL vs Yahoo thing.

I haven't used AOL in a long while (thank god) but when I did, I just logged on and then opened up IE or NET independently and just used the connection, bypassing AOL. Have you tried that?

Wouldn't it be easier to not use the parental thing and not visit those pages that are "unethical". I mean if you really want to visit "unethical" pages I bet that it's not hard to get around the parental thing anyway.:) I'd go mad if my parents didn't trust me that much:(

IT WAS JUST THE YAHOO INBOX.

That box never has porn spam in it - only Civfanatics notifications and "Consumer Savings" and stuff.

Yes I've tried bypassing. But for some wretched reason (damn controls) using IE w/ an AOL connection under controls doesn't work. So I'm stuck with that.

Yahoo has never been a problem for me under AOL. Except now. Or, well, when I had Young Teen controls - outright block.

Even worse...

I'm banned from viewing a site on overpopulation. How am I ever going to do my Model United Nations homework??

Go to the library. Do they have internet connections there? I dunno. . . this is weird. Talk to your parents about it, see if they'll let you on their account or something.

That's weird.
