DivineImpact Apr 22, 2003, 09:08 PM You knew it would happen eventually. Here's my shot at creating a scenario on the liberation of Iraq. At the moment, I have only placed certain Iraqi cities, roads and rivers. If anyone knows where mountains or grassland should be, feel free to reply. Other suggestions are very welcome as I really want this to be a great and realistic scenario.

Emphasis would be on quelling resistance within captured cities and capturing vital oil fields quick enough before they are sabotaged.
And researching tecnology kinda seems completely uneccessary.
Just my two cents.

Yeah, I think I'll have it setup in the description that one turn would be one day and I'll have to setup the movement abilities to be the same.
The oil fields are something that I hadn't considered. Maybe I can figure out a way to create an immobile iraqi unit that will destroy the oil fields if Coalition troops come within range. Like, a self-destructive unit or something. Emphasis would be on taking out this unit before he has a chance to do anything.
I also plan on having Syria, Turkey, Iran, and Saudi Arabia along the borders of Iraq. And put, say, a huge amount of Turkish military right on the border.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to fit Israel onto the map though.
Yeah, tech would be rather pointless. I'll probably just get rid of it, or give everyone all of the techs.
DJ_Izumi Apr 24, 2003, 11:18 AM No offence, but other the the roleplay potential, of American users conquering Iraq, I see this as a potentially boring mod. The recent war was a total asskicking with almost no losses on the coalition side. Who would want to play that? I want a challenge, I want to fall back, be pushed back, push forward. Not just bomb the snot out of a technologicaly inferior and out numbered opponant, and run across the desert with all my tanks.

This is why I prefer WWII as subject matter, slower, calmer, more evenly matched opponants. Keeps things interesting. War is to fast to be interesting these days.

DivineImpact Apr 24, 2003, 05:17 PM The editor seems to only let me have the bombard range of bombers be 8, at the max. Does anyone know of a way that I can change this so that it either has unlimited bombard range or at least, more than 8.

You have to have PTW. This is one of the main advantages to PTW, effectively unlimited air ranges 1-362.
WAIT! Hold the presses. I forgot. :crazyeye: There's an "Unlimited Bombard Range" in the Unit abilities. It's used for the ICBM. So you can have range 1-8 or unlimited.
