When placing cities on the map, do I select just the civ I want to own it or do I set a player # for each one?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks. mrtn Apr 23, 2003, 12:33 PM I think that the player# is only for multiplayer and such. If you want a city to be roman, regardless of who is playing the romans, just choose civ for it. jamesjkirk Apr 23, 2003, 12:37 PM Okay, now do you put Player 1 as the civ that you're going to play? pdescobar Apr 23, 2003, 03:24 PM For a single player game, Player 1 is always the human player; Players 2 through X are the AIs. If you want to setup a scenario where the human and AI have units and cities but you don't care what civs they use, use the Player# options to place the intial units and cities and leave the Player properties screen with "Any" listed as the civ for each one. If you do care what civs are where (such as in a historical scenario), use the Civ name options when placing units and cities or use the Player# options and then set each player to a specific civ on the Player Properties screen. jamesjkirk Apr 23, 2003, 08:20 PM Thanks for your help so far guys, I'll try to wrap it up w/ this: Okay, so say I'm placing Roman cities, it wouldn't make a difference if I had "Rome" selected in the "Select Active Player" box or if I had "Player 3 (Rome)" selected? And what if I had a little of both? The map shows a demarcation between the borders when I do one of each pdescobar Apr 23, 2003, 08:25 PM I would try to be consistent to reduce confusion and potential problems, but if you have Player 3 set to Rome then when you actually play they should own both "Roman" cities and "Player 3" cities even if the editor treats them differently. |
