As soon as the game gets under way and a civilization is picked i propose we bein on a greal seal and flags for the new nation. We will most likely need a wartime flag and peacetime flag.

Good idea, FM. I believe you'll find some stiff competition in Plexus and 40J. Both are making excellent flags these days.

Yes, Plexus and 40J have designed great flags for Fanatikou(CFC MSDG team). I have also seen FM's work, and I think we will have lots of good proposals on our hands.

I hope to see more of the Peace flag. A shame we cant start now, but seeing as we're Random,,,

while i may have started the thread i may not be making flags this time around. I havent decided yet, but its best to get ideas flowing beforehand.

I don't know about you all, but Plexus avatar would work great for the flag. :p

Otherwise, I'd wait until after the game is started. That way, our civ (whatever it is) will work as an inspiriation.

Half is an overstatement, but there certainly are a few female citizens and it would be a shame if others were put off in future just because a proportion of the male population was suffering a rush of blood away from the head at the beginning of the game.

seriously though, did anyone who made the suggestion of using carmen electra actually mean it? I doubt anyone really did, so theres no need to make a fuss about it.

A handful of ladies participate in the game and I would not wish to offend them with a pin-up flag. By "half the population" I meant actual population as in the country, world, what have you. If you can easily imagine a large number of people being legitimately irritated at a flag design then it's not one we should adopt.

A she-wolf has saved the lifes of Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome according to mythology. So I think we should make use of this holy animal of the Romans when creating something like The Great Seal.

hm, I'd like to see Plexus' flag with an eagle or a wolf. especially wolf, since the eagle is used so much in the real world, but we never see a flag with a wolf on it.

I like the second one, with the wolf in the middle and the SPQF on top.

I kind of liked the last one. It gave it a vase (chalice?) appearence.

Of the wolf ones, I like the one in post #43 best. But I really like the flag you produced with the Roman numeral 3, Plexus. Good work.

Very nice Plexus! those look great. The last one is the best.

Plexus: The Wolf + the "Ceasar's headgear" in the center + on the left vertically "III" + on the right veritcally "SPQF". I have no photoshop so I can't do it myself.

The eagle looks good but I agree the wolf looks better. Besides, the wolf is the totem of the first President so it fits very well. ;)

I like the wolf without the SPQF, myself.

After giving it some thought I agree with Siegmund; the wolf without the SPQF is the one I like. The rest is just, well ... just too busy. But I'm anxiously awaiting Fionn's input.
No offense Plexus, but disregard my suggestion to put III on the left and SPQF on the right.

i like the flag with the wolf and the writing on the bottom and i was thinking the sides should be gold and for every new city we build we add a little white collumn and the seal should just be the center with something in latin

Here is my contribution for a flag...
I took up the sugestion on having a flag that chnages after how many provinces\citys we have. In this flag we have 1 star for each province. This first pic shows a flag with 1 star (it will be like that at first):

I have decided to create the Great Seal of Fanatica. An Insparation came when I was looking for the Great Seal itself to be uses to Replace the Presidential Seal of the US on the Aide to the VP Badge (http://www.eaglesofwar.com/images/products/3157.large.jpg). Then I came up with this.

I liked the flag with the Roman numeral III on it. Maybe we could represent every city somehow? Like if we have three cities, just have III across the flag. If we have 36 cities, we could put XXXVI across it, etc. Any thoughts?

What does the color purple represent ? and the stars ?

The purple is for the preatorian guard. the elite romans who guarded the ceaser, and the stars are for each province in the empire. When i made the flag i thought we had 3 provinces since we were holding elections hence the 3 stars. The biggest star represents the capitol province.
