heres what cost you the game; you lost it from the beginning: you brought your queen out too early and i could bat it around whilst gaining mucho tempo and developing pieces, and 2 center pawns. plus i had castled, and had my rook and queen on a half open file. take a look at the beginning of the game. look how many pieces i had developed and compare them to yours. yours are weak, especially the queen. its jammed away at an unimportant part of the board, and your second knight that you moved isnt doing anything. what your second move should have been

2.d4...Nf6

you are setting up for fianchetto(getting bishop on the g7 square) and castling. you would bring the other knight to d7 and probably on the next move go c5. that would be a normal "pirc defense". kind of an opposite english(i think).

Argh! As a chess geek, I must again protest. The Pirc does not equalise. No defense to e4 does. Occasionally some inferior but hard-to-crack lines (such as the Berlin Defense recently used by Kramnik to beat Kasparov) are found, but they too are eventually "refuted," by which I mean a concrete advantage is found against them.

I hardly ever play chess so I Have no Idea what the Pirc is!
