My evil teacher made me do an essay about this, even though the history books that our school uses doesn't say a word about this! I also searched this from the net but failed to find anything useful...
Can anyone help me out? :)

From local library you will probably find books about them - but I guess you don't want to spend that much time for a single essay.
Only link I know:
Tatjana Androsova's articles about trade relations between Finland and USSR 1920-1940 will tell you how USSR different priorities and attitudes in economics affected to trade (in Finnish)

Also try William L Shirer's "Rise and fall of the Third Reich" to get a better idea of how Stalin dealt with Hitler, esp the events leading to the war.

Indeed, Shirer's book (two thick parts) covers a LOT of ground. Was written in the 50's it's still accurate. Even more accurate than many books written today, which some semi-sensational (read: selling) new facts and conclusions. I think it has even been translated, not 100% sure though I have my own copy. I borrowed them to a friend (after six months or so I think he should return them) and can't really remember if they were in English or Finnish. :D

The CCCP was something of an international pariah in the years after the Red Revolution, and before the days of the Alliance with the Western Allies against the Nazis during WW2. Not much of a foreign policy; the great powers generally tried to ignore them I think.
As far as foreign relations go, the Soviets beat the crap out of the Japanese who tried to invade Outer Mongolia in the late 30s, and later would sign an Anti-Aggression Treaty with them.
The Soviets forced Chiang Kai-shek of the KMT to acknowledge the independence of Outer Mongolia (Mongolia today), which fell into the Soviet orbit. Used to be an Imperial Chinese province. Also they sent help to the KMT, in terms of assistance, when all other Great Powers ignored them. This was before the KMT went on to conquer the greater portion of China in the late 20s.
People have covered the relations with the Germans portion. Also note earlier on, the Soviets coorperated with the Germans in secret military projects and stuff held within the CCCP, where the Western powers couldn't monitor.
Also the tense relations with Poland. The Poles invaded the CCCP in the early 20s.
Other than that, can't think of anything else...

OK thanks all! I've done writing my essay, based mostly on posts (and links) on this thread. I also found a little something on a big history book that I have at my home (should've checked from there in the first place I quess ;)), Anyways thanks all.
