Plexus Apr 30, 2003, 09:21 PM I am happy to announce that we have a new addition to our Culture family, please welcome CivGeneral, he will be our Assessment Officer (or AO), an integral part of the culture ministry.
CivGeneral Apr 30, 2003, 09:24 PM Thanks Plexus, It would be a pleasure to work for the Culture department, and hopefully pick up a few culture related stragities :).
As I said in the FA office "Lets make some freinds" - That crasy FA from Civ3 :)
Jason The King Apr 30, 2003, 09:39 PM Ya, ok, I would like to be the Officer of Tourism :).
Thanks!
Jason
Curufinwe Apr 30, 2003, 09:40 PM Plexus, for turn chat reasons, perhaps it would be prudent to state the hierarchy in the Cultural departments for spot votes. Thanks in advance.
Plexus Apr 30, 2003, 09:46 PM Good idea, curufinwe. :)
Plexus Apr 30, 2003, 09:53 PM Once again, I am happy to announce that we have a new addition to our Culture family, please welcome Jason the King, he will be our Tourism Officer (or TO), the part of the minsitry responsible for promoting our landmarks and beautiful land.
CivGeneral Apr 30, 2003, 10:09 PM This Office has certanly been busy lately :). I hope EA discovers the HO is open when he returns :). BTW EA, If you are reading this, I recomend that you apply for the HO :).
Curufinwe Apr 30, 2003, 10:13 PM well CG, he'll have to compete with our brilliant deputy. Haha.
Plexus Apr 30, 2003, 10:19 PM Yea, I was hoping EA would apply for the HO.

Same, Lets start a fire and send a couple smoke signals to EA :).
naervod Apr 30, 2003, 11:33 PM Dang, I would also like to be head of the HO, but maybe, me and EA could be co-historians or something. Also, I would like to be Chat Rep.
Curufinwe May 01, 2003, 10:26 PM Many of us who were in the first DemoGame for Civilization III remember that while this department was headed by Justus II, he (and for a few weeks, I) would make a report on the cultural state of all cities in the civilization. I propose that we renew this, thought not as obligatory. I believe this would fit well into the asessement section, though if CivGeneral is unwilling to take upon this responsibility, I would be more than willing to. Of course, for the first while it's relatively unimportant, but as time goes on it gains in importance. Thanks all for your time

Smoke signals were seen and I have returned ;) I think Naervod has a good point. It has become aparent to me, during the last demogame, that this game gives off way too much history for one person to handle adequatly. I propose a joint group of historians, each dedicated to an aspect of the game, and all of them being "masterminded" for lack of a better term, by a head historian, nothing too fancy or anything, just someone that can give structure to the historical works the group does. Sort of like a Historical Society of ....insert our nation's name here.....
As I have privately stated to our estemed Culture Minister, I will gladly throw my name into the hat for an election, maybe the election could be for head of the Society...

Peri May 02, 2003, 01:16 AM I'd like to join this venerable society too please. :)
Plexus May 02, 2003, 05:38 PM Interested in a Chat Rep seat, Peri?
Plexus May 02, 2003, 05:39 PM Historical Officer poll posted! Please vote for who you want to see in this positon. :)
Elect the new Historical Officer: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52314
Peri May 02, 2003, 06:39 PM I would be happy to accept, but I dont know what it involves. Perhaps you could explain it so I know what I have to do.
Cheers
Shaitan May 03, 2003, 07:00 AM Plexus, your link doesn't work.
naervod May 03, 2003, 11:23 AM It's up in the Polls section. Also, since Peri wants to be CR, I will withdraw my application.
Plexus May 04, 2003, 12:58 PM I am happy to announce that Ehecatl Atzin has won the HO positon by a margin of two votes. He will be responsible for recording our history and presenting it in a first person manner. Congrats, EA.
Curufinwe May 04, 2003, 06:52 PM Plex, permision to go ahead with my earlier suggestion please.
Plexus May 05, 2003, 03:34 PM Permission granted, Curufinwe, please PM me what you gather and I'll update the assessment post.

Thanks Plexus, as I posted in the poll thread link (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=963640#post963640) I think a group of people is better than just one historian, I would think that Cyc, Naervod and Curufinwe should get first dibs for the positions since they were also in the running. What do you guys think?
EA
Plexus May 06, 2003, 05:56 PM Yes, I'll let you to hire other people to help your job.
Chieftess May 24, 2003, 09:19 AM I'd like culture (and all successive terms) to look at my Culture Flip Calc, especially when we start taking some cities. It determines the chance of a flip in the city. You could also use it to determine if the enemy city is going to flip to you.
Cyc May 24, 2003, 01:54 PM I'd like Culture to remind their History Dept. that there's only one week left in their 30-day probationary period :D.

There's a probationary period?! well, since first terms are always kinda slow I don't think there's that much to write about, with the recent war with Egypt though, I think our military historian can have a go at it. I didn't think a thread was necesary yet, perhaps the with the war we can start it.
