View Full Version : Term 2 - Military Department: The Hunt CivGeneral May 02, 2003, 01:57 PM Welcome to the Term 2 of the Military Department of the MSDG :). CivGeneral Jun 11, 2003, 08:32 PM Time to get this Office up and running :D. Gingerbread Man Jun 12, 2003, 01:56 AM I think we should formulate a defence/retaliation plan for the 98% certain war. Figure out the time we have to get iron online, the possible plans the enemy could make, hypothetical situations and responses, speed and safety of troop movement, etc. Also formulate a backup plan. Cyc Jun 12, 2003, 01:38 PM OK, I know I'm only the Chief Justice, but I thought I would try to lend a hand here. I hope you don't mind. I will first descibe the plan, then post a picture below. There are six Warriors around Yun Feng. We need to bring these in closer. Move #1 the the NE, leaving the Worker unprotected. If the GCA Warrior goes for the Worker, we can take him out easily. If the Worker is killed, we can build another in Zhi Gang. Move #2 to the NE and #3 to the North. If the GCA Warrior doesn't go for the Worker, then we'll have 3 Warriors surrounding it ready to attack. These three should be able to knock it out. If not, we can still use the Warrior in Yun Feng to finish it off and complete the road. Move #5 (the arrow makes it look like a 6) to the NW. This may draw the GCA warrior out of the forest, but it probably won't. If it does, it should withstand the attack. #4 can attack or fortify or move into the city. The Warrior up by the Northern Iron Hill should abandon it and head for Yun Feng. Bring the two Warriors down from the North country to the Northern Iron. They should get there about the same time the Settler would. (I'd rather switch the Settler to a unit, but I can't check the loses.) After the Settler is complete, start building Chariots to send down the road to Yun Feng (if the Worker doesn't get killed :) ) When the Archer is complete in Zhi Gang, send it up the road to Yun Feng. Also send the Spearman in Zhi Gang with it. Build a Warrior for garrison there, if the Worker isn't needed. Then go back to Archers. The Spearman in Cha Ching can also go to Yun Feng, leaving the newly produced Warrior there to garrison. Keep the Worker building the road (if it survives this plan). If we can remove the GCA Warrior from the Iron and build a road there, we can start building Swords. Hopefully our Warriors can hold out (with reinforcements on the way) until a Barracks is built in Yun feng (after the Walls). We'll have Archers and Chariots coming up the road from our support cities until we can produce Swords. http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads4/1400bcwarmap.jpg FortyJ Jun 12, 2003, 02:00 PM Great ideas Cyc... Two things: Chariots cannot cross mountains without roads, so if we fail to dislodge the warrior, or if our worker is killed, these units will be trapped behind our lines and unable to assist in the defense of Yun Feng. I'd rather not vacate the northern iron yet. Once again, if we are unsuccessful in dislodging the warrior in the east, or if our worker is killed, then we may need this iron source to build swordsmen. We should not allow GCA to fortify another unit on this location and block both sources of iron. I like the idea of moving the spears forward and leaving the newly recruited warriors to garrison the towns. I only hope that they are not sending units along the southern coastline to flank our position. Changing the Settler to a unit now is impossible, and not advisable anyway. Another city will only help us to support more troops and research HBR that much faster. All in all, it's time to kick some GCA butt. I'm actually begining to hope they don't withdraw... CivGeneral Jun 17, 2003, 09:59 PM Well, GCA has made a city raize :(. Vander Jun 18, 2003, 02:18 PM What are the immediate plans for GCA? Defend until we get something offensive, or gamble on Elu. 's attack to give us a window to attack them? Fier Canadien Jun 18, 2003, 04:30 PM I propose that we keep on defensive untill CDG starts to cripple them. Zukatah Jun 19, 2003, 06:45 AM I vote for the defensive approach too. When GCA is falling we help CDG by going offensive to seize at least BoP... CivGeneral Jun 19, 2003, 04:37 PM Well, the plans are that I would work with Rex on the Offensive campaing. Fier Canadien Jun 19, 2003, 07:39 PM But, CG, there's a good reason why we can't go on offense: we don't have enough millitary! With what I see right now, we will barely survive to the first assault of GCA with our entire millitary. We can't afford to get in their territory any farther than BoP, it would put us in a way too vulnerable position CivGeneral Jul 09, 2003, 12:34 PM I will be leaving for my Grandparents 50th Aneversery.
