Fanatica is what we should go with. We've had Phoenatica (DG1) and Fanatika (DG2). I like being a fanatic. :)

In the words of Noldodan: "Who cares about tradition?" Fanatica is just a repeat of our former name. At least Fanaticum is Romanized.

Actually, Fanatica is properly romanized. Fanaticum is not. Country names ended with "a". City names ended with "um".

And how is Fanatica not Romanized? It is a perfect example of a first declension noun. fanatica/fanaticam etc etc...
If you want a traditional Roman/Latin name for our country then choose Fanatica

Fellow citizens of this great nation I urge you to vote Fanatica and consign fanaticum to history. We are fanatics and Fanatica should be our natural land.

Although not quite the Fiddler on the Roof fan that our president evidently is, I still find "Fanatica" more aesthetically pleasing than "Fanaticum".

Yes, I gathered that from the discussion. What I meant was that Fanaticum sounds Roman, while Fanatica just looks... blasé.

Perhaps we could compromise by calling our country Fanatica and our new capital Fanaticum?

The fact that the name Fanaticum has gotten this far is an embarassment. Remember that the name of our country will be presented occasionally to all of CivFanatics(on the main page). We open not only ourselves, but also CivFanatics, up for ridicule by choosing a suggestive name like that. We should not make it the name of our country, capital, ar anything. Those wanting a Roman sounding city can go with Fanatic-i-um.

If Fanaticum is chosen, I may reconsider my participation in the DemoGame. Either that or post any lame double entendre that comes to mind regarding this vile name. But no harm, right?? Apparently, half of us here wouldn't get the joke anyway.

Our country should be called Fanatica.

I like Fanaticum better, because we are trying to find variations of Fanatica, and I don't particularly like sticking with the regular "Fanatica".

Well, I was a hardline "Fanaticum"-ist. But it seems like you guys have swayed me.

Despite my early opposition to Fanatica, I think it is the better of the two options for the reasons listed above.

I stand with DZ and the rest of the "Fanatica" people. As I've inferred from the begining, the other name is not one to used for our nation's name, nor that of the Capital City. A modern day news stand would possibly be a good candidate for that name. Although I wouldn't mind seeing a variant of the traditional name sometime, it is too late for this game. Do yourselves a huge favor...

As much as it pains me to say it... Fanatica is our nation name. Long live Fanatica!

PS: I would appreciate it if somebody would translate that into Latin.
