I don't know if this is a known issue or "just one of those things..."
On sunday I made a mid-turn save after adjusting the luxury slider, tabbed to MapStat and opened the new file...there was one city with Happiness trouble, and when I tried to jump there it stuck at the "really leave game" dialogue. When I clicked "no" the game continued to the next turn.
This was a problem for me because I still had stacks of fortified units that I wanted to use.

I've had reports of moving units around instead of the map, but nothing quite the same as you described below.

Strange. CRpMapStat performs the following key presses:
Esc (x4) : to get to the "really leave game" dialog
Enter : to close the "really leave game" dialog
H : to centre on the capital
Arrow Keys : to move the map around
If CRpMapStat pressed the Enter key after you close the "really leave game" dialog then that could cause the symptoms. There should only be 0.3 seconds between pressing Esc and Enter though, so that shouldn't really leave you much time to do that. How long before you close the "really leave game" dialog?
Bartleby Jul 04, 2005, 06:36 AM I waited what seemed to me to be a couple of seconds...
It's something that's happened maybe once or twice before out of many, many times jumping to cities so probably it is some sort of "freak occurrence."
At least I had just made a save.
MSTK Jul 08, 2005, 12:17 AM It's been half a year now, I think. How have things been going on the "Export to Story" thing?

Thanks for your interest MSTK. I haven't consciously stopped developing CRpSuite, but I've not had time to improve it recently. I've only just started playing Civ again after 2 months off. Maybe I'll also find some time to further improve CRpSuite as well ;).

, I just came back from a big break, too.

If you do get a chance to work on it, adding copy to clipboard to MapStat would be  .

It's probably not what you were thinking. I was looking for a new job after being made redundant, during which time I decided not to play Civ else I would spend all my time doing that. Then when I found a job I needed quite a bit of time to move and settle in.

Do you just mean to copy what's visible in the current tab to the clipboard?

ansar Aug 05, 2005, 08:02 AM Somehow, after the installation, I cant seem to do anything else.

Do you mean you're not sure how to start the installed programs? If so just go to Start->Programs->CIVReplay, then click on one of CRpMapStat, CRpViewer, or whatever.
ansar Aug 05, 2005, 06:22 PM Whoops. :crazyeye: I had install it, but didnt know how to run it.

No problem, you're not the only one, that's actually quite a common question. The answer to the next question you're going to ask is: "Use the hidden context menu, just right click somewhere to pop it up" :mischief:

You should send a mouse-click to location of the capital on the mini-map instead. :)

Is that what you do for CivAssist II? The clicking would alleviate the need for pressing the cursor keys. Pressing Esc lots of times was at the request of SirPleb so that it would work no matter which screen you had open at the time.

Yes. The location of the city/capital is calculated from its (x,y) location and the mapsize. The ony thing to watch for is that location of the minimap is a few pixels different between C3C and the previous versions. CivAssist won't center on the cities if you've got a city or advisor window open though.
daufoi Sep 08, 2005, 10:57 PM does CRP Viewer support multiplayer games, namely Conquests multiplayer games? Your CRP Creator Help says it doesn't and when I tried it, it gave me that error. But, someone told me it does. If it does, where can I find instructions?
Thanks.
Turner Sep 08, 2005, 10:59 PM I don't play MP, so I'm not sure if it'll open it up. I'm sorry, I misread your question in the other thread.
But the SP games should work okay.

CRpMapStat supports multiplayer, the other utilities don't. MP support for the other utilities is on my todo list, but I haven't been doing much (if anything) about updating CRpSuite for quite a while.
Karl_t_great Sep 13, 2005, 02:53 PM I've played quite a few archipelago maps lately, where You won't see the entire map until You're at the domination limit .. or very near at least. At that point the mapstat terratory tab is blinking wild every turn, and still You have to remember to check the actual % on civ F8 screen (which can't tell how many tiles You are actully away).
So I did a corrective calculation on excel:
- I get MyTiles from Mapstat and My% from the F8 screen.
- So TotalTiles = MyTiles/My% (accurate to 2 digits).
Now if I only could key in TotalTiles to mapstat....
planetfall Oct 14, 2005, 11:04 AM Idea for another improvement in Stats, 2 new tabs
TAB - Military
civ1 - weak/average/strong
civ2 - weak/average/strong
etc
TAB - Govt
civ1 - anarchy/despot/monarchy/republic/democracy/fascism/communism
civ2 - anarchy/despot/monarchy/republic/democracy/fascism/communism
etc
I know C4 is coming soon, but haven't seen system requirements and it would be cool
if time to get these 2 tabs added to map stats. Then I wouldn't have to open the F3 screen very often.
EMan Oct 31, 2005, 11:25 AM @Dianthus:
1. A Notification if your gpt is less than your cash! (I.e. Cash=0 and GPT=-1)
2. A Notification if your city is going to increase in size next turn. This is useful for "Rearranging" laborers to optimize output, knowing where the AI is going to put your "New" laborer.
3. A Notication that a City in Resistance will Riot next turn. Currently this works for all cities that have NO resistors. (viz. Unhappy citizens outnumber Happy ones.)
4. Make this GREAT utility program available for use with Civ 4!? :)
EMan Nov 01, 2005, 09:31 AM 5th Request:
It would be very useful to know which cities will COMPLETE PRODUCTION at the end of this turn. Quite often you have EXCESS shields that could be "re-assigned" to an "All-Commerce" tile instead. :)
Mistfit Nov 01, 2005, 09:37 AM Just so you don't think Dianthus is ignoring you I thought I'd let you know he's out of town for the majority of this week :D
EMan Nov 01, 2005, 01:44 PM Where I go, there's usually internet!........Maybe he's Ice Fishing with you in Michigan!?
I guess we'll wait and see if he ignores us when he gets back! :mischief:
Thanks for the Heads-up, MisTfit. :goodjob:

Awwww, and here I was hoping he was just busy working on a version for Civ4. ;)
In Civ4 I really miss having so much info available in one reference utility. I spend more time looking for information in that game than I do playing, which takes a lot of the fun out of it for me. :(
I LOVE MapStat!!!
EMan Nov 01, 2005, 07:48 PM ...I LOVE MapStat!!!Second That!
:hatsoff: :hatsoff: :hatsoff:
Dianthus Nov 02, 2005, 07:30 AM Hi all. Thanks for all your interest. I've just got back from a long holiday, couple of weeks in China/Hong Kong, then a couple of weeks in Oz. I was generally too busy having fun to mess around with the internet (apart from a 20 minute session in Brisbane airport, but 20 minutes goes quicker than you think!).
@planetfall/EMan, thanks for the requests, but very unlikely to happen. I'm not expecting to do much more, if anything, on this old Civ 3 stuff. If there are any spoiler type bugs I'll fix those straight away, but anything else is unlikely.
@gmaharriet/EMan, I'm not working on anything like this yet. Lets give it a little while ay? I still haven't even played Civ 4 yet! (Hopefully it'll be coming next week :))
Dianthus Oct 11, 2006, 04:10 AM I've just fixed the link to my website in the first post. I'm not updating this anymore, but it's still available. Thanks to PoorAxl for pointing out that the link was wrong :goodjob:.
Turner Oct 11, 2006, 06:46 AM  No notepad?
I'll throw a fit! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will! I will!
PoorAxl Oct 11, 2006, 12:26 PM Excellent Dianthus
Spoonwood May 21, 2008, 05:25 AM I've downloaded CrPSuite. When I load up civ III conquests (via complete), it doesn't appear. How do I get CrPSuite to run with civ III? I have windows ME on my computer.

Well, it IS a suite of programs...3 or 4 as I recall. Make a desktop shortcut to whichever one(s) you wish to use. All are useful for vanilla, but only MapStat for C3C (my opinion). Click on the icon before starting up Civ, or ctl+alt to your desktop mid-game and click on it.
None of the programs in the suite come up automatically until after you activate them. I use only MapStat and it will refresh itself everytime you do a manual save or go to the next turn, BUT.... If you change to another civ/game (like from Persia to China), you will need to manually pull up the new file the first time after you make that change.
Spoonwood May 26, 2008, 11:45 PM Thanks gm... that gave me the idea to search for the program and I found it.
