Hmm...

There doesn't seem to be a link to the discussion thread in the first post. :nono:

I vote yes. Although some elements are not strictly required that can be handled with the scoring and weighting and these are a good poll foundation. For example there's no real need for abstain unless there is also a participation requirement. If no participation requirement is given then we could take off no points for not having abstain.

@shai: That's because the polling standards haven't been accepted yet. ;)

But, I say yes.

I will abstain. A poll meeting these standards would surely be a good poll but I'm not sure how useful these standards would be if adopted. I am particularly concerned with the subjective standards that use the term *unbiased*. It would be great if we could make these two standards more objective.

I appreciate what your saying Donsig but we need to start somewhere. There wasnt much feedback from the group as a whole so it seemed like a good idea to propose Shaitan's standards for adoption. When we have a framework in place it should be easier to make refinements on issues such as objectivity and other concerns so it is a yes vote from me
:)

A yes vote from me. This is an easy to understand method of doing it.

I vote YES, as these should all be considered standard polling procedure. I do agree with donsig that we should better define the first two Poll bullet points, but don't think that it should keep us from putting these standards in place.

I will vote Yes. However, I would like to see a new standard that says that all polls will be open for at least 48 hours.

current yes vote tally = 6/12

(total number of members = 13, 1 abstention leaves 12)

I vote yes, with looking towards redefining the first two standards the way donsig suggested.

7/12 constitutes an unbeatable majority. Standards have been officially accepted by the membership of the Polling Standards Commission.
