View Full Version : City Graphics: Evil Citadel
mrtn May 09, 2003, 10:17 AM I've modified some city graphics (can you guess from where?:) ) to make a Evil Citadel, to use for your Darklord/goblin/orc/LOTR mods. All the eras look the same.
Edit: An updated (smoother) version is available in post #26.
Edit 2: A grey version is available in post #30.

It can be used as a dwarven stronghold, or the home of mountain dwellers. :)
mrtn May 09, 2003, 12:07 PM I'm thinking of doing another version of it, which would be lighter in colour, more like the original gfx, maybe more grey. This would be for the Dwarves. :santa:

Make the city graphics replace some other city graphics, lets say american, then make your orcish civ be the only civ that are the american culture group.(do that in the editor under civilizations)

Yoda got it in one, they're the Believers cities from Alpha Centauri. I'm thinking that it should be possible to do something nice with the Peacekeepers cities, what'ya recon? Something oriental, obviously.
About Yodas answer to Klyde, these cities are for the moment set up to replace the asian cities (i e they are named rASIAN.pcx and ASIANWALL.pcx). I didn't want to rename things, just to confuse the matter. BTW, you never see the names of the culture groups in-game, do you?

mrtn May 11, 2003, 07:27 PM Akula, what would you like to use the SMAC cities for? If it's just straightforward conversions for use in a sf game, then that's easy, if you want them for some kind of fantasy mod, as I'm doing, then that's different.

Akula May 12, 2003, 06:49 AM I have tried to make the game go on for longer, by combining sertain ages (ancient and middle age for instance), to easier get some of the SF units in whitout stretching the modern age
(it's propably not going to be released)

Drift Feb 06, 2004, 03:42 AM Looks good, but why just the blurred version? I have all the city graphics I need for MoM so I don't have a personal need for these, but I think they look out of place when not used with watercolor terrain.

With a little work you could take neutral, good and evil citadels.
Not to mention many wonders and improovements...
The game is 3D, but from the right angle, it could be worked into a fine flat graphic

- replace them with the ones from the package.
Or make a custom scenario.
- Make a folder called "Evil Citadels" under your Scenarios folder in either Civ3PTW or Conquests folder. (If you have both, choose Conquests)
- Copy conquests.biq / civ3ptw.bix to that Scenarios folder and rename it "Evil Citadels.bix / Evil Citadels.biq"
- Then add two folders into your "Evil Citadels" folder like this: Scenarios\Evil Citadels\Art\Cities\
- Place rASIAN.PCX and ASIANWALL.PCX in that "Cities" folder.
Load up Evil Citadels from Civ-Content / Scenarios in the game.
