View Full Version : New Unit: Snotling
embryodead May 11, 2003, 01:07 AM Cute little greenskin... actually, it is so small that you can hardly see him in game :D
If you think it's useless, you are right ;)
Poser model by John Malis.
UPDATE 1.1
I did most of the greenskin units fast so I didn't do too much detail... snotling really needed some fixes so here they are: greener skin, bigger and lower (no neck) head and new victory animation.

Yoda Power May 11, 2003, 02:31 AM lol nice unit. This should have a munit version.
embryodead May 11, 2003, 03:22 AM hmm, I don't like munits but this might be actually a neat idea since he's so small.. maybe "snotling swarm" or something :)
zulu9812 May 11, 2003, 03:38 AM in Warhammer, snotlings come as bases of 9 - so yes, a muni would be good
LouLong May 11, 2003, 05:09 AM What is a snotling ?
Akula May 11, 2003, 05:20 AM Nice unit, but...um..what is it??
embryodead May 11, 2003, 06:23 AM snotlings are the smallest goblinoids in warhammer. small, stupid and annoying.
mrtn May 11, 2003, 06:57 AM This could be used as a Evil Scout.
zulu9812 May 11, 2003, 07:47 AM i think the unit needs to be greener
embryodead May 11, 2003, 08:33 AM it's only a pallette issue, so i can try greener version later, sure
Kindred72 May 11, 2003, 11:00 AM I actually thought of doing somehting like this.
Great Job!
Kal-el May 11, 2003, 12:05 PM a bigger head would make him more snotlingish. :D
embryodead May 11, 2003, 01:48 PM OK, so this may be Snotling 1.1. Bigger head and greener... (I guess I'll start posting previews before release of units)

Tommy21 May 11, 2003, 05:25 PM hmmmmmm
methinks some one wants to do a warhammer mod
which wood be very cool
look out for undead, skaven, orcs and gobs, elvies, dwarves, human empire
embryodead May 12, 2003, 02:08 PM updated to 1.1, see first post for details
Kal-el May 12, 2003, 02:28 PM really nice. Now I wish I were still working on that Warhammer mod that got started a while back.
embryodead May 12, 2003, 02:58 PM you can wait for mine ;)
it's pretty detailed, tech tree made from scratch etc. and I make units especially for this matter, 9 for orcs&goblins so far, will be more like wood elves, beastmen soon. I don't know if I saw a thread about your mod? Saw one wh thread a while back but there were only ideas, factions etc.
Kal-el May 12, 2003, 03:00 PM we had a separate forum for it, but I don't have the link to it or remember the URL anymore.
Akula May 12, 2003, 03:30 PM A warhammer mod could be really fun, I've never played it myself (don't got the money), but some of my friends seems o´pseessed whit it and it appears fun, so if someone can catch the atmosphere of warhammer i'd love to try it out
Clam I Am May 12, 2003, 05:16 PM I've played Mage Knight before (like warhammer) and that was pretty cool. My favorite was the vampire cowboy guy if anyone knows what I'm talking about (probably not). Anyways, good work as usual.
Nder May 12, 2003, 05:21 PM Bigger Ears for the Snots!
embryodead May 12, 2003, 06:38 PM Nder, at this size, even really big ears are visible only at one (N) direction... so no.
mrtn May 12, 2003, 06:45 PM If you give him a cloak and a light-saber, you get Yoda. :D
Nder May 12, 2003, 07:58 PM ok, well in that case I guess... :goodjob:
aaglo May 13, 2003, 06:28 AM He should be smaller... not.
Funny little creature.
Now, who's going to make a puppy? ;)
GIDustin Sep 23, 2003, 09:53 AM I made a MUnit of this Unit. I didnt name it Snotling Swarm or anything because I didnt check this thread until after I posted it.

Amenhotep7 Sep 23, 2003, 01:49 PM Aww...The lil' fella's kinda cute in murderous sorta way...:undecide:
denyd Sep 23, 2003, 02:52 PM They'd make neat little dinosaur food if you used them as scouts with the dino mod-pack.
I'd make their stats 1-0-1 with all terrain as roads and add them as an alternate barbarian set when using raging barbs (to get a larger quantity). If you want to build them, I'd expect a cost of 4 or 6 per unit to be about right. Making them upgradable to a warrior is probably a good idea.
