View Full Version : How are we doing?
Shaitan May 13, 2003, 03:07 PM Things are quiet around here...too quiet. Are we just running incredibly efficiently and smoothly with the majority on the same page or are people bored with the demogame and just sort of sliding by? Or somewhere in between?
amirsan May 13, 2003, 03:19 PM Hey, Hey, Hey!! What your mouth there buddy boy, that language is not appropriate in this place...
lol, Naa, its straight, nothing much exiting probably because we didnt get that much in the game yet (without meeting opponents and affairs). Probably could use a thing or two to spice it up but I think its going quite well.
Stuck_as_a_Mac May 13, 2003, 03:21 PM Weve yet to meet anyone, our research is going well and we've got a nice area that may be to ourselves.
Needs some excitement though,
needs...
Legionaires!
Chieftess May 13, 2003, 03:40 PM I think it's:
1 - Our isolated location
2 - We know how eachother thinks after 1 year
3 - It's continents, so we can't meet everyone quickly like on a pangaea, or a pangaea-like continent
4 - Culture, Trade, FA can't do a thing. Military and Science have little say, and Domestic gets all the fun. ;)
FortyJ May 13, 2003, 03:48 PM It's because some of us are having way too much fun in the MSDG! :D
Seriously, though... it's a fledgling nation. There's not much to do now except role-play and await our first contact. Besides, I think the last demogame might have beaten the will out of those few who might execute a slightly different series of opening moves....
Shaitan May 13, 2003, 03:50 PM I sure hope not, Forty. A big reason I pushed for Monarch level was to give other strategies a chance.
FortyJ May 13, 2003, 04:21 PM True... and that it certainly does, but if you break it down, I think you'll see that there's really not much to do right now. Trade, Military, Foreign Affairs and Culture are all pretty much tanning by the public baths right now, while Domestic determines where we should build our cities and Science wakes up every so often to determine what we should strive to discover next.
I'm sure that activity will pick up again once there's something to do. Of course, if postings are all that we're looking for, I'm sure someone could come up with a juicy PI or two... ;)
Stuck_as_a_Mac May 13, 2003, 04:26 PM If need be, Ill play the save. Perhaps I can get us to meet someone? Reveal excess information? Swear in the chat? Annoy CT some more in the RPG?
SOMETHING!
Rik Meleet May 13, 2003, 05:06 PM You've met me and I am new. I hope that's a consolation price for some. ;) I Do not have techs or gold or a WM so even if I wasn't on your team you couldn't trade with me.
I can honestly say I am anxiously logging in several times a day to see if any new developments have taken place, both in the game as around it. I'm also hoping for some action soon, preferably from another Civ, not Barbs.
Peri May 13, 2003, 05:08 PM Well I guess that at the moment it isn't quite as exciting as watching the invincible armies of old Fanatika sweeping all before them but we are a new nation finding our feet in the world. We need to be patient while we develop into a thriving and bustling empire.
This is my first DG and I am enjoying it so far so :goodjob:
Chieftess May 13, 2003, 05:27 PM I could play 20 turns if you want or until we meet another civ...

THen lets pump up our AI difficulty level to EMPEROR!!! hehe
Cpt Kaos May 15, 2003, 07:11 PM I'm a newbie, so for me things look great.
Almightyjosh May 15, 2003, 08:38 PM Certainly the best time to join the demogame is right at the start. You get to know the nation well, be steeped in it's history and establish a name for yourself. We all just have to cope with the first stage of our nation-building, when we don;t have an army or anyone to trounce with it, let alone trade or culture to speak of!
