View Full Version : Military Department Disscution: The (Very) Early age of Exploration
CivGeneral May 13, 2003, 03:58 PM I have noticed that we have little units advalible for exploration. I would like to push forward in creating more Warriors for both Defense (And to store for use later to upgrade to Legonares), and to explore in all directions on the map.

Peri May 13, 2003, 05:02 PM All our production at the moment is geared towards exploration/expansion and military operations.
We have lost 3 warrior units to barbarian attacks and have been very unlucky in this. Our remaining units are exploring and garrisoning. Our cities are producing military units at the moment too.
CivGeneral May 13, 2003, 05:21 PM *Grumbles* Them Barbarians will pay. For the Exploration, I am planing on Exploring Westward :). Hopefully our luck will change :).
Falcon02 May 13, 2003, 05:26 PM Stick with Warriors for now, when we get Iron we can upgrade them to Legions and conquer the world...
mwhahahahahaha....

amirsan May 13, 2003, 05:49 PM hehe, I came up with a que that added many warriors in the picture. Also, thinking about were to put our wonderbuilding city wont help. WE SHOULD CONQUER THE WONDERS WITH THE WORLD "mwhahahahahaha...."- Falcon02

@Falcon02 - Ok, you are scaring me now ;). How did you sneek into my computer and decoded the Crypted message I stored away ;).
Seriously, that is what I am bound to do. Stock pile Warriors and upgrade them to Legonares when we get Iron Working and a source of Iron :).
Sir John May 14, 2003, 10:04 AM I think we should expand as fast as possible against the americans so that we "relive" them of as much terretory as possible... This way we would get quite a nice upperhand quicly and then destroying them with our legionarys would be easy..
BTW: It would also be nice to explore other places on a pure iron search...

That's only a viable option if we also have cash for upgrading.
DaveShack May 14, 2003, 06:12 PM I recommend a quick reconnisance mission to the NE of Noshuret to make sure we have no nasty surprises in our backyard.

Falcon02 May 14, 2003, 09:27 PM I feel we must concentrate scouting to the east now to find America, and try to establish ourselves on the Land Bridge to the West, to ensure our claim on this land.
Donovan Zoi May 14, 2003, 11:14 PM I would send one warrior east and one warrior west. We will need to start thinking of keeping some warriors near our cities to eliminate "fog of war." The time is fast approaching where those little barb camps will spring up in the shaded areas of our map, thereby diverting our attention from more important things. It would be nice to station some warriors on mountains so that we shed light on as much land as possible and keep these uprisings at bay.
Remember, this doesn't have to be done right this minute, but we need to start a gameplan for this now.

That is if we are lucky enough to find the land bridge. It may be a contenent, who knows. That is why I am pushing for more Warriors to Explore the area and hopefully discover the Land bridge.
Sir John May 15, 2003, 03:30 PM How do we know that there even is a landbridge?
Bootstoots May 15, 2003, 03:52 PM AFAIK, we don't know there is a land bridge.
Falcon02 May 15, 2003, 04:25 PM no, not a land bridge, wrong wording... I'm talking about that bottle neck, you know the one which his 1 land tile with 1 water tile on each side, making it a strangle point, and a canal for naval forces. 1 city on that tile could prove very valuable.
Almightyjosh May 15, 2003, 08:30 PM Even if it's not a one tile bottleneck, it seems that in the west and in the immediate east we have to areas that would serve as good borders (for now) I agree we need to find abe, but we must stake our claim on the western bottleneck as soon as possible!!
