i'd like to see someone do some Elvish city graphics. I think they would be very usefull for any fantasy mod. I hope someone will consider it.

Trees or Limestone caves?

A nice happy forest with squirrels, or a more sinister Mirkwood type forest?
This is the elven cities from ToT, and my edited darkelf version of them.

Like in LOTR the film or LOTR the book? At least the way I read the book it's not as it is depicted in the film.

I could also use a set of elven like cities, something with lotsa trees. Something that will blend in well in forests.

I'm thinking about doing this. It depends on what sorts of pics I find, I wont start from scratch, just mod existing things. So if anyone have any Forest-in-civ-view-pics (from above), please post them. :)

Well, In Morrowind, there are some interesting graphics for buildings to go in cities. This isn't to good of an example, because the size refrains me. If you are interested, I could e-mail you better examples.

PCH, check your pm's.

Edit: embryodead wrote in the LotR thread that he would post some elven cities (and elven units:)), so I propose we wait a few minutes for those.
Edit2: That's it. I started anyway. :)

I started to mod some of the graphics I got from PCHighway. I have a forest as background, shall I keep it, or will it be too hard to see the city then?
And PCH, can you send me some more graphics? :D

That looks great! But it is a little hard to see anything. Maybe if used someone elses forest? Such as Womoks ;). (I know I keep bringin him up). I'll get some more, which one do you want them to look like? So I know what type your looking for?

-Actually, now that I look I think that is the perfect backdrop, maybe if you put a pathway in there?

 Do you want the forest or not? You're confusing.
It doesn't really matter which it looks like, they're all very similar, and I shrink it quite hard.

I might add a pathway, but I need to know how the city looks first. This is all 4 houses added. So I'd probably want 4-6 more. I have no idea how hard they are to obtain though. And I'll only do one era, I'm not suicidal. :crazyeye:
Warning: ugly jpg , the cities will be nicer. :)

I actually think that looks good. You should post that so we have something to use until we get a new version (if there will be a new version) :D

Ok, no problem. That was an edit btw ;), I like the forest backdrop, with more buildings it looks hard to add a path and unnecessary. I'll get the houses soon, is tomorrow ok (I should really work on Krytens cities).

This is still a photoshop file. Half the work (or a bit of it, at least) is in converting it into a civ-friendly format. And it's only one city of three. So you'll have to bite your nails a little while yet.

Are you afraid I'll sue you? This is a hobby, bud.

mrtn- Are you afraid I'll sue you? This is a hobby, bud. Damn! How did you guess my intention? Whats that? Oh you said you'll sue me, never mind then ;). Ok, I'll get them tomorrow, it is 8:12pm US central time, here (http://www.worldtimeserver.com/) is a time converter, I’m sure you will be going crazy with anticipation .

I like it to :goodjob:. When can we download, did you check it out in game?

The house on the near left in the last city looks rather large, although this might be because I know what it looks like normally, it probably won't catch anyone else’s eye :).

Checking it in-game will be the last thing I do, I still have all the layers separate.
Do you like that house better now?

I like it better this way, but as I said no one would notice (and might like it better the other way) It looks great, keep it up :goodjob:!

Couldn't you just hit 'merge visible' and save it as a different file?
Im anxious to get my hands on this one :D.

I need ideas for the city walls. A log pallisade?

Thanks :goodjob:! I like them a lot, we should definitely use them for the LotR mod we're working on, don't you think?
Walls... Hmm I don't know, I can't think of where you could get log walls, unless your thinking of the palisade-type walls on the rAMER files. That would be good, IMO.

mrtn

rAMER? I'd never! That'd be stealing! ;)
I'll head over to the graphics forum now. :D
This screenshot show 'em without forest in front of the cities.
