I'm in the market for an Mp3 player and after extensive research (ahem) have decided to go for the 20Gb hard-drive option rather than memory base. Size does matter sometimes.

The three main contenders are

Archos Jukebox Recorder (is the multimedia version worth the extra?)

Creative (Nomad) Jukebox 3

Creative Jukebox Zen

Anyone any experience of these or any comments?

Ever consider a Discman-type that can read MP3s? Works great if you've a CD burner. :) I don't think you can finish a CD of MP3s at any one shot...

Saw a latest Panasonic model that can play MP3s, and for up to 190 hours.

The idea of having a MP3-player or MD is that you can fit them in a pocket. Discmen are too large, and to get a good one you'll have to pay quite a lot anyway.

Still, it's cheaper...:)

I like my Dell Axim....not quite as small and doesn't hold very many MP3s (64MB default memory) but I can play games on it and keep tract of my appointments. :) It is like a super GamerBoy Advanced.

Though I think the Creative Jukeboxes are all fairly large, and are more power-hungry...

And nowadays, Discmans are getting smaller and smaller. The one my housemate had just bought is barely larger than the CD it's playing... and pretty slim.

And with a Discman, you can play normal audio CDs too! ;)
