View Full Version : NEW UNIT: Chaos Warrior embryodead May 22, 2003, 09:00 PM warhammer-style chaos warrior. sync'ed attack sound and all icons included. download: http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads4/chaos_warrior.zip mrtn May 22, 2003, 09:11 PM Nice! Those "ears" on the helmet reminds me of Sween32's Sauron leaderhead, so this could be used as a Sauron king unit. Or just a kick-donkey warrior. :goodjob: Grandraem May 22, 2003, 09:15 PM Looks great, as usual. :goodjob: Klyde182 May 22, 2003, 10:36 PM Beautiful there Embro  What's next on the agenda? Maybe some Chaos Marauders & Horsemen?:D embryodead May 22, 2003, 10:37 PM its prolly the same helmet prop.. and yeah, the idea to use it as king unit in lotr is good. aaglo May 23, 2003, 12:49 AM Looking gooooood :cooool:  LouLong May 23, 2003, 03:00 AM Very nice ! :goodjob: Raw is War? May 23, 2003, 06:54 AM Beautiful! :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :) Smoking mirror May 23, 2003, 07:23 AM Hmmm.. or a 15th century german mercenary.... Looks good for a heavy medieaval Infantry unit, I could well see a bunch of these guys trying to fight off a viking sea attack.. Exelent work, a very versatile unit. What I'd like to see next is a Knight, or hero of men on foot, with a big sword and lots of shiny armour and a colourfull tabard... Its something Ive wanted to see done well for ages... aaglo May 23, 2003, 07:33 AM Smoking mirror - you said it. :D This could be used also in a non-fantasy mod ;), which increases even more the value of this unit :D thestonesfan May 23, 2003, 08:49 AM Wow! This guy looks like a real butt-kicker! Sorry guys...embryodead's next project is the crossbowman variant of Vdog's british spearman. How do I know? Cause I said so! :D embryodead May 23, 2003, 09:09 AM sort of... next projects are: wolf chariot (goes slowly), pikeman, halberdier, crossbowman, zombie, fimir, goblin shaman, elf spearman & archer, wardancer. i didn't think of using him non-fantasy mod, mainly due to the size of his axe :D I can't imagine anyone wielding that weapon in real world. thestonesfan May 23, 2003, 09:11 AM It's not the size of the axe...it's how you use it. mrtn May 23, 2003, 09:31 AM Originally posted by thestonesfan It's not the size of the axe...it's how you use it. embryodead, why don't you post some previews, so I can nitpick until you bleed?:D And what's a fimir? Grandraem May 23, 2003, 10:33 AM Originally posted by embryodead next projects are: wolf chariot (goes slowly), pikeman, halberdier, crossbowman, zombie, fimir, goblin shaman, elf spearman & archer, wardancer. I don't suppose you'd consider this order instead: wolf chariot, halberdier, goblin shaman, zombie, wardancer, fimir(?), elf spearman & archer, crossbowman, pikeman.;) Don't I sound ungrateful?:D P.S. I don't know what a fimir is either. Kindred72 May 23, 2003, 10:55 AM man, I thought I was quick. sheess By the way............AWSOME!!:goodjob: embryodead May 23, 2003, 12:07 PM Originally posted by thestonesfan It's not the size of the axe...it's how you use it. What do you mean. Is it so bad? :( It had to look unnatural... about the fimir folk... Fimir is a dark, swamp-dwelling creature from warhammer world. Very fast, one-eyed, with spiked tail. As far as I know, they have no organised country, but they keep raiding everyone in small warbands, so they are the best choice for generic barbarian unit in my mod. Fimir pic attached. mrtn May 23, 2003, 12:24 PM Uhm, embryodead, I'm not sure if you got it, but I'm pretty sure thestonesfan made a naughty joke. And if you did understand, I can take looking the fool. ;) embryodead May 23, 2003, 12:42 PM LOL now I got it. Maybe I would understand that in my language but that way I had to receive that little help ;) Nder May 23, 2003, 12:53 PM These are great units you are making, but to get that true Warhammer feel they should be stockier. Warcraft did a good job getting that Warhammer feel. embryodead May 23, 2003, 01:36 PM Not sure what you mean by "stockier", but I know my units aren't like GW figures, which are, first of all, shorter and wider, have exagerrated body parts etc. Main reason is that I use Poser with human models, which do not work well (or not at all) with such extreme deformations, at least not for me. There are many problems, like WalkDesigner working wrong, clothing that won't fit etc. Another thing, which I think is good, that most units are quite universal for any fantasy mod. BTW warcraft designers get lots of $$$ for their job, I just do a unit quickly and have no boss standing behind me looking if I deserve the pay... Nder May 23, 2003, 02:21 PM wasn't really complaining. :) just wondering if youi had intentionally gone away from the traditional Warhammer exagerated effect. mrtn May 23, 2003, 03:17 PM Originally posted by embryodead LOL now I got it. Maybe I would understand that in my language but that way I had to receive that little help ;) You're one of the Finnish mob, right? Looking at all the good graphics and units coming from Finland now, I'd say you have entered your Golden Age. :D  embryodead May 23, 2003, 04:16 PM Originally posted by mrtn You're one of the Finnish mob, right? no... mrtn May 23, 2003, 04:28 PM Sorry, you looked like someone else.:crazyeye: Celeborn May 25, 2003, 05:21 PM where are the saurus :D Boba Fett May 27, 2003, 05:37 PM Daaaaaaaannnnnnnngggggg think it looks menacing enough? Chris85 May 27, 2003, 08:44 PM Sweet unit! He looks pretty bad ass with that axe. I have a feelin he knows how to use it too. Kind of reminds me of the Iron Knuckle from Zelda. http://www.zeldauniverse.net/images/bosses/oot/ironknuckle.gif cavemanf16 May 28, 2003, 10:36 AM Nice, clean animation... although I would suggest speeding it up by a couple frames to make it appear he's got a little more power behind that axe! :) embryodead May 28, 2003, 11:08 AM in game animation is much faster. and if you want it even more faster, just change the framerate in flicter. |
