How to play a multiplayer game

Yeah it's very simple, get PTW and set uo a game in the lobby using the local games setting.

i know this link is old, but i found it by searching google to find out how to get civ3 gold (multiplayer) working over a lan. i have a lan using a router and two computers. it was not working on my windows xp machine. i installed directx 9.0 3c on that machine, and my windows 98 machine. problem solved. can now play mp on my lan !!!

hopefully this will help the next civ addict get to war with mp!!!
