Hello all. Altough I'm sure no one even noticed I was gone, I thought I'd step in and announce my return. I haven't been around for the last few weeks, been busy with RL things. Looks like a lot has changed since I left (new mods, AoA no longer a mod, etc.)

Hmmmm. I don't know if someone even noticed that I had dramatically reduced my posting percentage lately. I am only posting short messages (unlike my usually loooong ramblings) and only in very few threads.

There is reason. I've joined some art foruns to deal with my drawings, and I'm putting some things I learned there to use - and it sometimes can take very long.

When I'm done with my current pic, I'll probably get back to my regular posting. I'm too close to 1000 to give up just now.

Anyway, does this counts as "leaving" (I think it does), or is it a lil' off-topic?

Hello. I'm new here. A lot of you probably know CivCube; I'm his little brother. He introduced me to Civ and now I really like it. Whenever I see him on the computer he's usually on Civ Fanatics. At first, I thought it was just a waste of time, but now I still do a little bit, but when he told me it's one of the most popular Civ sites on the net, I thought that wasn't very interesting because what other Civ sites are there? Even though I haven't been to any others, he told me there were others. Anywho, I think I'm going to like it here.:cool:

Oh, here's a thread. Well I went to Washington last Wednesday and got back Monday. So, I'm back.

OK, I'm sort of back now. I've been gone for a few months, been working my ass off and also worked at another lab without my own computer.
But I'll start posting again on a regular basis from now.

I sure missed a lot of action, aoa leaving, ot apparently closed for a while...

Tomorrow (Friday) I will be leaving to go houseboating. :) I will be back to work (from where I do most of my posting) Thursday the 12th. When I get back, I am going to try to spend less time here while I'm at work. I figure I could be working harder ...

I dont suppose many people here know who I am, but CFC is in fact something that means a great deal to me. It is a nice place to hang out at. Its quite unique as a forum on the internet. This is mostly because of its great mods and intelligent posters :)

Anyway: The reason for my abstence is that I will be away from my PC (traveling), and Internet cafès are my only source for the net at the moment.

I had a very good time here, there's been some good posters, and very good moderators.

I will retreat to my lair and begin to do some serious studying. For that reason I will get rid of TV, internet and all other distractions, including my girlfriend (just kidding, I could never do that to her :love: ). Anyway, I won't have enough time for CFC.

I think I am going to take a long break from the OT. After returning from vacation, I have found that I tire off replying to the same arguements. Just a reading a few threads this morning showed me that the desire to fight the tide has gone out, while those that love to bash all things conservative just wait a week and then spout the same trash again. There are a few here that engaged in constructive debate, the most outstanding of them being Renata and Stapel. I wish all the best of what they dream.

I'm back. Orlando was... wet. Very wet.

My fiancé would like you all to know that it doesn't rain nearly as much in Seattle as it did in Florida this past week, despite our rep. She feels strongly about this issue.

(I personally like to exaggerate Seattle's rainy reputation to keep people from moving here.) :)

Still, we had a great time, and the rain kept people out of the theme parks so we got to go on more rides, more often.

We went to Universal Studios, BTW. Islands of Adventure is much better than old school US -- I'd recommend sticking to it, unless you have really small children.

Starting tomorrow afternoon I'm gone for at least 2 weeks...going to see the families in Georgia...

Hmmm seeing as i came back from my little break at CFC, I feel i should announce I AM BACK. Although I'm sure not too many people noticed. However, I will be gone on the weekend, and over the next few days i will be busy organizing a trip to Vancouver Island for the BC rowing Championships. So I'll be on very infrequently for the next 2 days and I'll be gone friday to Monday. And maybe even longer after that due to my work schedule. So for the few people who missed my sarcastic and antigonizing comments farwell, but I Shall return.

Leaving on Thursday, will be back on Monday. Staying with my grandma. :)

I was playing civ2 on and off since I was 12. Now i'm 18. I like learning about microchips and semiconductors, and i have some brief general knowledge about it these things.

I got bored one day, and found this site. Some funny stuff on the frontpage, as well as some nice info and w/e. I read through the forums, and saw people saying "deity is easy" and it got me to start playing again. Right now i'm trying to master King level. :) I only know 2 people personally who have ever played civ2. I have civ3, but i'm not really into it.

It was quite fun though but I think the main problem in CFC are the rules, too strict IMHO. I know Thunderfall is doing the right thing since there are many young people.

i agree with Artagnan, my "addiction" was also dimished a couple months ago and now, between school coming around again, as well as work, and other stuff....i gave up cfc for awhile, except for the once in awhile posts or visits to the chat room...i'll probably never leave forever, just take long times off to explore real life.

Although still not in the Land of Hope and Glory I do have access to a computer and the internet. It will probably be about a week and a bit before my normal posting services are resumed. I know that many of you won't be able to wait that long and will do some sort of physical harm to themselves in an attempt to get me home early. wandered away for a while. got hooked on Civ3 and pulled out my old copy of Starcraft. found a few different discussion boards. achieved the legal drinking age in Mexico. The list goes on. May it suffice to say that I was somewhat busy and posting elsewhere. now that I'm in college and I had to leave my computer games at home with my little brother I have some days with a hell of a lot of free time.
