I have concerns about this war with Egypt that we have blundered into. Not only are we unprepared militarily we have no clear idea of what our war aims are. We seem to be gearing up 100% for this war to the utter disregard of the course we had previously decided upon. We recruited warriors with the idea of retraining then as legionarries, yet our treasury is capable of refittting only half our warriors. And we talk of establishing embassies and bribing allies which will only further reduce our military modernization program. We desperately need a discussion to set reasonable goals for this war. I look to you, Mr. President, to begin that discussion and I do hope that when you do so you will summarize not only our current national situation but the direction we had been going prior to the war. We cannot make intelligent choices about the war in a vacuum. We must consider our other national goals as well. Are we ready for a golden age?

People of Fanatica,

It has come to my attention that we still have no presence in our Culture Office. I am therefore asking that Culture Deputy Plexus start a temporary Culture thread while I issue a three-day warning to current Culture Leader curufinwe.

If curufinwe does not respond to my PMs by Sunday June 8th, I will assume the position is vacant and Plexus will become the new Culture Leader.

I have finally figured out this month's chat schedule. All that remains undecided is the final chat.

Jun 07, 2003, 08:08 AM
DZ, I am dissapontet by you. You have been egositic and havent chosen a single tc that europenas could attend to. All the tcs you have there are in the middle of the night for people who live in europe. You should change this. Do it like Shaitan did it :)

Rik Meleet
Jun 07, 2003, 11:16 AM
John; 2000 GMT is hardly middle of the night. 2000 GMT is 2200 Amsterdam time (and also 2200 Oslo time). DZ plays only limited terms (4 or 2).

I do agree that a bit more spread would be more suitable. For instance Saturday or Sunday 0900 EST = 1300 GMT. Or 11:00 EST = 15:00 GMT.

Sir John
Jun 07, 2003, 11:59 AM
Rik: Srry my fault. But I do think it shoudl be spread anway..

BTW: AFAIK Oslo is in +1GMT so 2000gmt would be 21gmt ;P

Jun 07, 2003, 02:59 PM
@Sir John, I am sorry if you do not agree with my chat schedule. Unfortunately these are the only times I really have to play the game. I have a static work schedule, which regreattably means a static chat schedule.

If you have other examples of my egotism, please let me know. I know that there are many times that I am abrupt and to the point, but that is who I am. Also, taking on the responsibility of the chat has been more a bit tougher than I expected so please accept my apologies if I have ever offended you in any way.

@SaaM - The reason I stopped the chat early is because I find that we may have to dip into the treasury for upgrades more than I had expected. I will be posting a discussion on this early tomorrow.

Please, if anybody has any further questions or complaints, please let me know. It's the only way I'll learn..... ;)

For what its worth I think 9pm chat times are great.

Cyc
Jun 07, 2003, 08:22 PM
Mr. President - I would enjoy 9PM chat myself, but as I live in PST, I will never get to enjoy that luxury.

If we keep the income level as it is, I don't see a problem in Warrior upgrades. We only need to upgrade Warriors from the West. I don't really understand what your doing with that Worker East of Xak Tsaroth, but I believe I would connect that city to the iron and keep Nar Shadda unconnected and building Warriors. Some one put a barracks in Xak Tsaroth to build Warriors but this is not required as when they are upgrades to Legionary staus, they become veterans. With a Barracks, Xak Tsaroth would be much better suited to produce Legions. Leve the Warriors to Nar Shadda. You would have to use the Worker to connect XT on the hill to its Southwest, and the Warrior in that city to pillage the road to NS.

If we change the Great Wonder project to a Barracks (it's still not to late), we can start pumping out vet Legionaries from Gorina. I would like to see a Library put in very soon though.

With these changes, I don't think that you'll have a problem raising the neccessary gold for upgrades. Our production will be right on track in all areas (Settler, Worker, Warrior, and Legion).

@sj: wrong calculation. gmt is without daylight savings, and oslo as its in MEST is with daylight savings. so as MEST is GMT+1 +DS, this is during summer GMT+2 :-PP

Mr. President, this post is to official lodge a complaint on the laborer assignments in the City of Gorina. The t/c Instrucions posted by Governor eyrei stated that the Iron hill was to be worked, but in reviewing the save, I found this not to be the case (see pic below).

As I've stated in Governor eyrei's thread, because of the circumstances that exist, ie Groina has grown during the chat and this being only your second week as DP, a formal complaint (P.I.) will not be requsted at this time (although I do reserve that right in the near future).

We need the Iron Hill back within the Gorina City borders as soon as possible to regain our production levels. Please help us in this regard as soon as possible. Thank you for your time,

Cyc
Mayor of Gorina

Will someone, anyone, PLEASE start posting summaries of what happens when the game is played?!? This is supposed to be a forum based game and citizens should not have to attend the chats and/or read the chat logs and/or download the saves in order to know what goes on in our country and the world around us!

Mr President.

As Governor of the Western Province I request that settlers are send in as soon as possible. For the greater glory of Fanatika it is essential to have a safe backyard. To do this we have to prevent other civs from claiming part of this province. Send in Settler's (with protection) to claim our lands. That is the best way to prevent war on 2 fronts in the future.

Yikes, I guess I have spent way to much time in the Citizen's Forum lately. Many times, I am just reading what is posted here and trying to make it happen. I will check the archives(aka first 30 posts of this thread) and answer any questions I may have missed.

My apologies to everyone.

People of Fanatica,

I have cancelled that last turnchat I had scheduled for this term so that our Term 3 leaders can determine their own path. After all, you see what happens when your entire tenure as President is defined by the previous administration.

I would like to thank all who voted me into this position and apologize that this term was one of the least productive in DemoGame history. Having experienced the role of President firsthand, I now have an even stronger respect for each citizen who has held this office before me. Unfortunately, I did not have enough free time to adequately lead the nation and it shows.

However, I will take none of the blame for the situation we are in regarding the city of Memphis. I presented a clear vision of how our country could progress if we left Egypt's mainland alone, defined our borders just north of Byblos and built a great nation south of that stronghold. But few listened to the man they elected to lead them, and now we are studying culture flip charts instead of power charts. Our only consolation is that we have two of the proponents for continued war(at the time) running for President, so I am sure they will be able to provide a solution to this mess that I may have missed. And hopefully the people of Fanatica will trust and support our new President's leadership more than was displayed this term.

In closing, I would once again like to thank my supporters and pledge to lend my support to anyone who has the qualities to dedication to make Fanatica the greatest nation in the world. After much thought, I have decided to take the month off from seeking elected office, and concentrate on the new mod position that landed in my lap. I plan to use this opportunity to try and bring some excitement back into this DemoGame. Please wish me luck.

Respectfully,

Donovan Zoi
President of Fanatica
