I've installed, uninstalled, rebooted, over and over, downloaded newest NVIDIA drivers, tried installing game in different folders, but nothing seems to make PTW run.
Have a Gateway 2.53 Mhz, 512 MB RAM, 43 GB of free disc space, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX40, Windows XP Home Edition.
Anybody have any ideas?? :(
jb, please don't continue to start new threads. I realize it can be frustrating waiting for an answer, but not everyone is visiting this form 24 hrs a day. I have merged your latest thread with this one. --Padma

As for your problem, the default place is in a subfolder under your Civ3 game.
That would normally be "C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\CivPTW", IIRC. I am assuming Civ3 worked okay for you.
Meanwhile, wait while those of us out here are scratching our collective skulls, unless you have more info to add. And then, add it to this thread; don't start a new one.

2.53mhz does fall a bit below the recommended specs, eh? :)
A few questions: Where is the error occuring? At startup when the video plays? When you get to the menu? What kind of video card do you have? What version of Direct X (start-> run-> "dxdiag")
Post back with all the info you can muster. I've never had someone send too much info when troubleshooting a problem. :)
