Can't believe how fast you are working....! Very nice ship indeed!

This is not a complaint, just something I noticed: isn't this unit a bit larger (in file size, 1.57 MB) than others?

Yes, and I don't know why... :(

Perhaps the reason is, that the ship is huge. Thus the individual frames of the animations have a lot of information.

Just to correct the possibility of wrong impressions, I've done the turtleship and the baode luan. Tongkang is by embryodead and junk is by TVA22. You can download them from this units-forum.

Nice ship. I think the big size is fine, wouldn't want it any smaller.

Could be a galleon replacement, same era and tech requirement. Basicly something like this would have been an awesome unique unit for the chinese, but Firaxis put absolutely zero effort into researching non-european civs, which is why we started with the 'rider' instead!

Thank-you Aaglo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :D

Great! Now all I need is a mod that puts Jade as a luxury resource so I can carry it in my Baode Luan! I could make a Jade mine mod so I could have it. Yes... Chessboards, statuettes, even Guns made of Jade! :mwaha:

Now on to the Disco settler!

btw aaglo if you wants to do more asian sea units, you should make a japanese galley, the ones without sails:)

aaglo, you have simply outdone yourself - beautiful ship. For those wondering where this fits in on the tech tree, it should be noted that the Chinese were building these about the time the first caravels were coming into use. I intend to use this as a UU for the Chinese (bye bye, rider!), available at the same time as the Caravel and with the ability to cross ocean squares. In real life they did lose a lot of these on their voyages of discovery, but had China's internal problems not precluded the continued exploration and colonization of the Americas, I have no doubt that the information gathered by the first voyagers would have cut the risks considerably - Imagine, Cortez showing up at Mexico City only to find the Aztecs have Iron and Horses, courtesy of the Chinese :) American history could have turned out very differently.

aaglo -- another beautiful unit!

-- and I definitely concur with Ivan the Kulak's thoughts on its use.

"Aaglo, can u make an OIL TANKER?"

Yes I can, but that doesn't mean that I will ;) (things need to have priorities :p )

What for?

alireza1354

An oil tanker to serve as a modern merchant ship by which u can build improvements or wonders instantly.

It would be neat!

Then u should reeeaally upgrade your marine forces to protect your oil tankers:)

Awesome an ancient giant ship.
Perfect for hauling a bunch of infantry to attack neighbors in fantasy mods.

i think they used to ferry exotic animal from africa back to china using this!

at the time it sail, twice the size of any european ship. it was the 1st real bid china made to explore the world. these ship help secure trade deal, foreign contact, culture exchanges.

the "royal yellow" used by malaysian sultan today were part of the imperial exchanges between malaysia and china. these ship has indeed made cultural impact that lasted until this very day.

the shipyard that built these giants no longer exist. but even the wood leftover from the construction were huge and impressive. good job bring a bit of lost history back to us! :goodjob:

The same as Galleon's, except transport capacity +2 (and speed -1 ?) i would think so. :D

This has to be the best unit I've ever seen. They should use this as the Chinese naval UU in Civ4..... where I hope Firaxis will provide more than one UU per civilization. :D
