We are finalizing the results of Gotm19-Ottomans but it is safe to say that player performance and participation at every skill level has literally blown away all previous records and statistics.

We had nearly 240 game submissions for the GOTM game blowing through the unwritten goal of reaching the 200 player level by mid year.

This Friday is also Friday the 13th, so it makes an appropriate day to celebrate with a special event.

"Freaky Free Fire Friday" will open up the GOTM forum to allow any GOTM player (existing in the records database or actively playing Gotm20-Spain) to open a non-GOTM/non-civ3 related topic for discussion or a poll that will help us all to get to know each other better and discuss non-Gotm issues that may be burning an inquisitive hole in your mental pocket.

These celebration threads must be opened between Midnight Mountain Standard Time (GMT-7) at the beginning of Friday the 13th and then Midnight Mountain Standard Time at the end of the day on Friday the 13th.

We will leave the topics open for discussion for one week or as long as there is active interest in the discussion topic. The topics need to adhere to the CivFanatics site rules and should focus on getting to know the other GOTM players better in some appropriate way. You may discuss some general civ related topic as long as does not relate specifically to Gotm19 or Gotm20 and as long as the purpose of the discussion is to find out more about what other GOTM players think or to help Newer Gotm players feel more at home in the community.

Great idea, Cracker, and I absolutely love the name. Now, say this with me five times fast: Freaky Free Fire Friday. I tried it, and did not succeed! :crazyeye:

I've always had lots of questions to ask people who hang out here about things they did in games, but never wanted to start a thread to ask. But, sorry for me, my wife has to travel for some training and I have to take care of the kids while we travel. Needless to say, I'll be logged off for about 2 weeks. Rats, rats, rats.

I'll just have to read it all when I get back.

You should post your questions here for now and we'll start some threads for you to read afterwards.

Impatient me - questions off the top o' my head:

What other games do people play?

What is the typical personality type of a GOTM gamer?

What makes you do the happy dance most - finishing that wonder on diety, getting a great leader, .... ?

If you could play just 1 more game then would you rather play on the Chieftain tutorial map (way too easy) or on the ultimate Diety map (impossible)?

If you could invite any 3 people that ever existed to dinner then who would they be? What if they had to be Civ rulers then who?

If you could permanently remove a feature from Civ3 what would it be and why?
