A daughter almost ten (going on 16; geesh) and 17 sons in one 6 year old body.

My daughter and her little classmate friend, who's parents are from Taiwan, can kick any Regent level player's buttocks all the way to the moon and back, and you ought to hear them talk about why swordsmen are for yucky boys while the horse units are for girls because girls are smarter. ;)

Don't worry, your safe this week; they are at girls scout camp this week and next catching bugs having water balloon fights.

One sixteen month old son, who loves to run into the room and bang on the keyboard while daddy's playing!!!

:hammer: :hammer:

[which explains the couple of extra reloads per game!!]

Proud father of a 2 and half year old and twin 14month olds. They're all girls. The twins are genetically identical (they were the same person/zygote for 8 days) but I can usually tell them apart and I can always ask my older daughter which is which if I don't know.:p

I too have twin daughters. They are 3 this month. It only gets more difficult as they get older! I hope you're saving for the weddings. ;)

I was wondering if you put the "soon" catagory for a reason. I'm not sure I would have remembered this catagory since my wife isn't pregnant. Are you expecting?

No I kinda wish we were. My wife is insiting that they be 4 years apart. She had a tough delivery and still has bad memories of the first 6 months after our daughter was born. I only remember the good times or so she tells me.

As I work in computer , I managed 4 kids :D
Boy - 8
Girl - 6
Boy - 2
Girl - 1
Added funny thing is that the boys first names start with T and girls with A. To be honest, it was because we like the name rather than any other cause

Acquired a stepson aged 19 last year. Sadly he prefers quake. He blows me away every time at UT. But we are evenly matched at TA . He refuses to play Civ against me ;)

My little guy is 2 years 5 months old, and he likes to play his Pooh program on the 'puter (so I have a little competition for the machine!)

Civ_Steve,

I put the Pooh program on my old Pentium and he can make all the messes he wants on that screen/keyboard!!

I noticed lots of twin girls on the posts, my wife are thinking about another 1 (twins might be a bit much!)

Thanks folks, I've barely been able to spare the 8 hours or so I've put into gotm20 in which appears to be a 30+ hour game.

Heh heh cracker, I'm hoping to introduce my daughter to civ and the like maybe civ5 by that time. Anything but Brittany's Dance Beat and I'll be happy though.

We've got a two year old girl, and she likes to sit in my lap while I play Civ3. I don't think she's ready for Deity games yet, but she enjoys pointing out the different colors on the map. :)

I think my wife would like to take a sledgehammer to my Civ3 disc. Maybe that should be an entirely different thread. :D

Congrats from me too Smirk.

I have a ten year old son and a seven year old daughter myself. My son plays lots of different games including Civ. He's more interested in modding and mapmaking though. He's even a member of this board but doesn't play the GOTM (yet... :)).

Aren't we a fertile lot?! Not bad for a bunch of computer bores!

I have a son, who was born 5 months ago about two feet away from where I am currently sitting, in our living room. He has not got the hang of Civ yet, being mainly preoccupied with "dribblin and starin at things" at the moment.

I also have an 18 year old step daughter, which would be great for babysitting except she is down the pub all the time!

Yup, they are Bichon Frises. We are very fortunate to have these two. They're bright, cheerful, loving, cooperative - wonderful companions.

I have a single son of 16 months named Sam. He was so interested in what I was doing I let him play GoTM18. He got to about 1750 BC too.

His game will improve when he finds the B key. His settler was passing through China when he got bored and stopped.

We have one girl, 27 months (2 1/4). She likes to play with Ernie on Mommy's computer. Haven't tried her on Civ yet, but that could be interesting to see how it would go.

We adopted and are on the list for another. It could be any day, up to a couple of years. Sure makes for some interesting planning... :D

My daughter just turned 17. She has been playing computer games since she was two. When I was playing "Wolfenstein" she would sit on my lap and open the doors for me by hitting the spacebar.

She evolved to "The Treehouse," to "Oregon Trail," various iterations of "Carmen Sandiego," to "Tomb Raider," to "Heroes of Might and Magic," "Diablo (1 and 2)" and "Baldur's Gate (1 and 2)."

I had to get her a computer when she was 12 so I could have mine back!

She is currently a big fan of "Dungeon Siege." She doesn't like Civ 3 much. :( It is too "slow."

she usually falls asleep in my arms while i'm playing (wife's glad about that!!) and i hope it's not because my playing is so miserable.....

I have a 10.5 year old son and an almost 9 year old daughter. My son plays Civ some, fairly randomly. He doesn't want advice from me. During the last Roman GOTM, he got mad at me for wiping out his rap MP3s so he wiped my section of the hard disk. I was clearing out the Russians at the time and doing pretty well. :(

My only time for playing is after the kids and my wife are asleep so finishing a game a month is good for me. This summer I've got several trips so that will also cut into time. I believe I'll focus on the QSC and take my time with those.

BTW, what is this poll doing here at the GOTM Forum?

Wizard,

On Friday, June 13th, Cracker invited all GOTMmer's to a Freaky Friday Open Forum day, where everyone could ask and answer any questions about the other players.

This is one of the surviving threads that keeps getting answers (and popping back to the top). Look for other threads with F^ in the title for other topics discussed that day.

This is my first entry on this forum (hooray :p )!! It took the sentimental subject of kids for that, apparently! I have been a very active passive member for a long time, however. My kids are
19 months old (a son of the Duracell-rabbit kind) and 5 months old (a girl of the let's-charm-everyone-with-a-smile kind)! These are hectic days, I tell you, my civ-gaming occur mostly during night hours. I am happily surprised to see so many civfanatics with kids. It tells me that the interest for good strategy gaming does not cease with the burden of parenthood. Thank god for that and for Cracker's hugely entertaining GOTM, which I only recently have joined and thoroughly enjoyed (gotm-20 delivered, gotm-21 underway). Thanks, Cracker!

I suppose I will add to the larger number of daughters here - aged almost 4, stays up beyond 9pm and sometimes beats my wife to bed

She is the reason my GOTM participation has dropped. I can't even rely on work to provide me with free time to check the forum
