Hey Guys,

I'm running civ 3, patch 1.29. and play the world 1.14 patch. I start to run the game and it says
"file not found
Sounds\military.wav"

I dont have this file. My sound dir in ptw just has ring2.wav. I tried putting the sound.dll file from the ptw root dir in there and got the same error. I even tried renaming a file from my civ 3 sound folder to military.wav and sticking it in there, no change. Has anyone else had this prob? or can anyone post a zip of their .wav files from the sound dir.

Also i have tried to uninstall both civ and ptw and reinstall and it still doesn't work.

Thanks.

(add to above post)

Oh yeah, sometimes i get this error message

"the sound header files used in the game do not match the ones used in sound.dll. Check all sound.h and sound device.h version!"

then it gives me the above error. But this doesn't happen all the time. Im not sure why.

I don't know what to suggest about the header problem (other than try to reinstall), but here's your .wav file: <url deleted>

Let me know how that goes.

We do NOT send Firaxis files over this forum - it constitutes copyright violation. The sound file he mentions is available in a .cab file on the PTW CD - all he should have to do is reinstall. --Padma

Looks like 3rd times the charm. I unistalled everything then installed civ 3 (didnt patch) then installed ptw and now it works. Now to do some patching and see if it still works :P

thanks
